Stan March 07, 2016 I have 1/4" braided stainless steel lines with nuts on both ends, on both lines - from the supply valve to the filter and from the filter to the refrigerator. The fittings need to connect to the stainless steel nuts on both sides of the filter. Since the nuts are stainless steel, should i use the fittings for copper lines instead of plastic?

If the connectors are no longer in the box, where can a homeowner obtain the connectors? All John Guess fittings work the same way: John Guess Fitting Procedure: To remove: Push line in and hold ring in, then, while holding ring in, pull line out. To re-install, push line in until resistance is met. Push harder until line "pops" in another 1/4 inch or so. Pull on line without touching the ring to seat seal. The locking clip (when included) should then be installed under the ring to prevent the John Guess fittings from accidentally being released. Note that the part comes with an instruction sheet.

Simply Note the direction of water flow marked on the filter and cut the water line off squarely on each end to remove the old filter. Install the new filter in the same configuration.
