Lee December 18, 2020 For GE Interface Disp Asm Bk (Part Number: AP3202258) The above part is broken and the part is not available. What are my options?
1 Answer Hello Lee, the manufacturer has discontinued part WR55X10298, it is out of stock and considered no longer available, there is no substitute part listed. If it is needed for your refrigerator to operate correctly then the refrigerator is considered nonrepairable. Read More...
Edk October 08, 2019 for Model Number PSS26SGPASS My touch panel on the freezer door only has a few lights on it. I can get the crushed ice, the quick ice lights to come on and the lock light only tries to come on. I can get ice from the dispenser, but no water because the light won't light up. Also the light bulb in the dispenser area stays on and won't turn off so I had to remove it. I read some of the responses to previous questions and the suggestion is to measure voltage between J4 pins 2 and 3 looking for 12 Vdc. I checked this voltage both at the dispenser board and the main mother board and the voltage I get on both boards is 13.5 Vdc on these pins not the 12 Vdc you mention. All other functions of the refrigerator are working fine. What part do you think I should replace Dispenser board or Mother board?
1 Answer EDK, The voltage you read is acceptable and based on the description and the model it looks like a dispenser board issue. Part# WR55X10298 Read More...
Neville August 26, 2019 My GE monogram model-ziss420dxbss control panel doesn't have an outer ring. How do I remove it?
1 Answer Neville, the door wrap WR78X12747 will have three screws at the top and the bottom, as well as six screws on each side. These screws will need to be removed to allow the wrap to be removed gaining access to the control. Once the wrap is removed, the control will need to be lifted up and then rotated out from the bottom to disengage the locking tabs on the control from the housing. Read More...
Mike September 11, 2018 for Model Number PSS26NHSBBB None of the functions on the front panel, including ice and water dispensing, are working. Is there a way to determine if I need to replace the the "GE Interface Disp Asm Bk", or the "Control Board" other than trial and error?
1 Answer Mike, On your main control, you can test the j4 connector at pins 2 and 3 for 12 vdc. That is where the control sends voltage to the user interface. It should be a red and blue wire. The black wire is digital communication between the boards. If you have voltage then the main control is doing its part and you would replace the user interface. Read More...

2 Answers Phu Vo, If you're following the U/C manual instructions " Press and hold the LOCK CONTROL pad for 3 seconds to lock the dispenser and control panel. To unlock, press and hold the pad again for 3 seconds " Then, yes you will need to replace the WR55X10298 / WR55X10298 Interface Disp Asm (BLk). The part is in stock and available at this time. Bruce August 21, 2017 for Model Number PSS26NGPABB The interface display buttons for Water and Crushed ice intermittently fail to work while the other buttons work. After a couple of days and for no apparent reason the buttons resume working. This has gone on for quite some time when I decided to troubleshoot the problem. I found there was corrosion on the wires at the harness connection near the lower door hinge so I cut the connectors and spliced the wires together. This did not fix the problem but a couple days afterwards the interface was working again. It’s been a week and now the problem repeats. What would you recommend I do next?
1 Answer Bruce, When the dispenser is not lighting up then test the board for 12 vdc to the board. If there is proper voltage then this will be a faulty dispenser control board. Read More...
Ed January 22, 2017 for Model Number PSC23NGPBBB "Quick Ice" light keeps turning on and off by itself. Everything seems to be working fine. Could there be some problem with the control board?
1 Answer Hello Ed, This sounds like a possible issue with the dispenser board WR55X10298. Read More...
Dave January 03, 2017 for Model Number PSC23SGPASS My dispenser control board quit working so I replaced it with a new one but it still would not function. I then checked that the main control board is operating properly by verifying the voltage on the J4 jumper. I finally narrowed the problem down when I saw that the harness connection near the freezer door hinge had corroded, apparently from water. What is the part number for this connection? My fridge otherwise works fine.
1 Answer Dave, Unfortunately there is not a connector that would be available. One thing you could try is if the connector is not deteriorated on the insides you could clean with electrical contact cleaner. If the contacts are corroded away then you would need to splice the wires together. Read More...
John M. December 14, 2016 for Model Number DSS25KSRBSS Lights on freezer door for Ice, water, lock, Etc are working great and when I get water or Ice the main light near the chute illuminates but for some reason now the main light comes on without any activation and stays on till I hit light switch on panel. What is the probable problem and Is this a safety hazard? If I just remove the bulb or back it out so no light is present. I hate to spend hundreds to resolve a light problem if there is simple solution. Thanks
1 Answer Hello John, This is most commonly caused by switch WR23X10783 contamination from drink spaltter form ice splashing into drink glasses. The splatter splashes up into the electronics and switches and causes different issues such as this. The manufacturers' recommendation to avoid this occurance is to dispense ice into an empty glass, then pour the drink over the ice. If adding ice to a drink, dispense the ice into an empty glass and pour the ice into the drink over the sink. Read More...
