Gary January 24, 2019 When I close the lid to wash clothes, panel flashes lid not closed. My model number is ptwn6050mowt. Thank you
1 Answer Gary, if you test the lid switch for continuity when the lid is closed (at connection 2 from pin 5 to 6 of the small inverter board) it should read continuity. If it does not, then you have a bad lid switch WH12X10334. If it does read continuity, then you may have a bad inverter board WH12X10481. Read More...
1 Answer Pedro, Remove the front panel and you will find the lid switch to the right side on the bottom of the top cover. Splice in the new switch after removing the old one. Read More...
Kristen September 28, 2017 for Model Number ge top load washer - magnetic lid swithch So, my ge top load washer works perfectly in all areas except during the spin cycle. When it is time for the washer to spin a click sound is made the agitator attempts to move and then stops. However, if I remove all wet clothing from the washer during the spin cycle, the washer will spin and will continue to spin if I add wet clothing once the spin cycle has been initiated. Additionally, if clothing has gone through the spin cycle and I want to start the spin cycle again, the washer will spin without issue. What part should I look at replacing?
1 Answer Hello Kristen, without a model number the best suggestions we can offer would be to look at the bearings, the idler assembly if equipped as well as your belt and motor. Thanks! Read More...
Lynne May 06, 2017 for Model Number GTUP270EM1WW My stackable model washer went out of balance and now the green lights are flashing. I tried all the suggestions to reset computer but it won't work. I think I need to replace magnetic lid switch but I can't find the part to replace it. Can you help????
1 Answer Lynne, This unit does not have a lid lock on it. The door lock assembly would be the most likely cause for this issue. The part number for the lid lock will be WH44X10288. Read More...
Dee March 25, 2017 for Model Number GTAN4250D0WW My washer fills but doesn't wash.... It keeps beeping as if in pause mode ... I looked for the motor light to check error code but I don't see a light blinking at all... Question - Does all these motors have a blinking error code light and also does it sound like the magnetic lid switch faulty or motor
1 Answer Dee, Yes the motor inverter board should have a flashing light and if it does not then test power to the board. If there is power then the motor would need to be replaced. Read More...
Gene October 21, 2015 for Model Number WJSE4150BZWW Washer won't spin. Checked belt it's ok. Is there coupler from motor to transmission? Or is it something else?
1 Answer Hello Gene. You will need to check the lid switch on the unit and see if it is bad and will need to be replaced. If it is good, then you will need to test for power to the motor and replace the motor is there is power there and it does not spin. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
J.L. June 22, 2015 GE washer WLE6500B1WW acts perfectly when you start it. It goes thru the first 9 minutes with no problems. When it hits the 6 minute mark where it would slow down the agitation for the last 6 minutes, it sounds like it's struggling to move. It becomes loud, and soon stops agitation all together and just sits there until the next cycle. In the draining/rinsing cycle, it drains the water, but then won't spin. So I have to manually reset the machine back to a wash cycle to rinse it. I like 2 rinses, so I do this twice, each time stopping it at the 6 minute mark so it's not struggling through the slow agitation phase. Each time it doesn't spin. On the final spin, I need it to spin so I must reset it to spin only, and literally take all the clothes out except like 3 pieces. It still takes forever for it to catch and start spinning. Once it does, I can quickly open the lid and throw few more things in, until everything ends up back in there, and then it will continue to spin. However once it ends, if I want it to spin more, and reset the spin cycle, it wont again. it sounds like it's trying, but when you open the lid, the stuff is just sitting still. so I end up air drying for hours so I'm not putting soaking wet clothes in the dryer. After much research, it seems like it could be the lid switch, and may also be the coupler. I'm praying it's not a control panel problem. I suppose I could have a belt issue too, but the fact that it won't agitate in the slow cycles makes me think lid switch discontinuity.
1 Answer Hello J.L., You will need to put the unit into the field service mode. This will direct you to the component/components at fault. The procedure is explained on the tech sheet in the control panel of the unit. as follows: "Position cycle selector knob at 9 o'clock. Depress start button while rotating cycle selector knob 180° release start button and all led 's will light. This is position zero. Led number is position location from left to right. Rotate knob clockwise to various encoder positions (detents) per the table to perform functional checks." Read More...
Autumn January 08, 2015 for Model Number GE WJSE4150B2WW Washer seems to forget what it is doing. It stops during any given cycle. You can push the start button again and one of two things happens; it either starts back up or it begins to fill again starting the cycle over. Sometimes it takes pushing the start button 5 or 6 times to get it to go. Also, if it makes it thru the wash and rinse cycle it tends to not final spin the clothes all the way. I can then put it on the final spin cycle and it will continue to wring them dry. Every once in a while it will do a couple loads without issue and but then reverts back to having trouble.

Beverly July 09, 2013 for Model Number WCSR4170G0CC My washer will fill with water and agitate fine, but will not spin. I have tried on every cycle and nothing. I ordered a new knob and installed it, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. What else should I look for?
1 Answer Hello Beverly. You need to look at the light on the motor and see if it is flashing an error code. If so, this will lead you to the part that needs to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
