Cannon July 13, 2024 for Model Number GFE28GSKSS We have the GE 28cuft French Door Fridge (Energy Star Profile). When one opens the door, the light flickers then goes out. I was thinking it may be an easy fix that I can do myself. Is this something I could do myself with the right part and do you have the parts I need? thx.
1 Answer Cannon, with the door open, the main control WR55X46805 can be tested for 12VDC from connection J14 pin 6 to pin 7. If voltage is not present, the main control would be the likely cause of failure. If voltage is present, one of the LEDs WR55X25754 have a short and is kicking the other LEDs out. This can be checked for by taping the door switches down and removing one LED. After the LED is disconnected, a jumper wire can be put into the cabin harness to bypass the light. One of the door switches can be lifted to the open position and if the lights illuminate properly, that specific LED has failed. If the lights do not illuminate, the door switch would need to be taped down again and the LED put back in place. This process can be done for each light to identify where the failure would be. Dan November 19, 2023 for Model Number PFCS1RKZASS I have GE Profile PFCS1RKZASS and I think the switch(es) may have gone bad (no lights and the front panel does not react with doors open or closed physically but it does seem to be blowing cold air inside). I checked the switches in my fridge and found that they have three prongs where as the images for this item show only two. Is there a different model I need?
1 Answer Dan, The GE light switch with the three prongs will be WR23X21444 and should be the same for freezer and refrigerator sections Read More...
Bobby Ray August 16, 2023 for Model Number PFSS2MIXBSS I have a problem with the door alarm going off when either door has only been open for several seconds. Will replacing both switches fix this problem? The lights go on and off when the switches are manually activated. Thanks.
1 Answer Bobby Ray, The issue is not likely the switches if the lights are working correctly, this would likely be the board with the alarm on it...part# WR55X10684 Read More...

Henry November 06, 2019 for Model Number tfx27pfbbb I own a GE Profile refrigerator and have a malfunctioning door light switch located on the fresh food part situated at the bottom of the refrigerator. The switch contact may be bad because the light does not come on all the time. Wiggling the switch helps but most of the time the light does not come on when opening the door. I need to know if this switch "AP5796096" is the right replacement for it. Please advise
1 Answer Henry, this light switch will work for your model. However, the model number provided does not appear to be a complete number. If the last four letters are XBBB then this switch will match completely. If the letters are SBBB then the switch WR23X353 would match. The difference between the two is one is a white finish while the other is a black finish. Read More...
