For Ge Push-To-Start Switch (Part Number: OEM14942709)

Hello Ronald, thank you for contacting APP, The unit not starting may be one of a few different things on this unit. The Timer WE4M533 may have failed and no longer be creating a circuit, also the Push-to-Start Switch WE4M416 may be bad and no longer making contact to allow the unit to start. Additionally the Hi-Limit Thermostat WE4M137, Door Switch WE4M415, or Drive Motor WE17X22217 may have failed. If it seems like the motor is buzzing, humming, or vibrating when the Push-to-Start is pressed and held we would suspect that the motor is bad, otherwise we would need to perform voltage and/or continuity/resistance tests to narrow down the issue further.

If the dryer will not start when you push the start button then check to make sure that the door switch and the belt switch are good first. These would be the most common causes for this issue.

Edwin, it would be likely that either the button of the panel has become misaligned or the push to start switch WE4M416 has failed. The start switch can be tested for continuity with the power supply cord unplugged and the switch removed from the panel. If it has continuity, it has failed.

Christopher, Based on the information provided I would check the belt/idler switch for continuity and if it is good the issue would be the motor.
