Andy April 08, 2016 My oven is a GE model # JSP47SH2SS. It appears that my temperature sensor has gone bad, with an F2 error message being displayed. The current sensor is part number WB21T10004. Can I replace it with part number WB21T10007?
1 Answer Hello Andy, It is not recommended to replace a long sensor with a short one. The different length may cause a temperature variance that affects recipes. Read More...
Patricia April 01, 2016 for Model Number JKP45B0D1BB Hi I have a GE double oven model# JKP45B0D1BB. The button for the light (top left) has popped back into the oven. What is this part called and what is the #. Does this control the slef cleaning as well?
1 Answer Patricia, If the button on the control panel has pushed back in then the control panel WB36T10496 would need to be replaced. If this panel is damaged then it could affect the self clean portion of the unit. Read More...
Robert October 21, 2015 for Model Number ge profile oven JT91250K355 I have a GE Profile wall oven and neither of the elements work and the oven will not heat up in Convection, Bake or Broil Modes. Was considering replacing the Sensor Asm but wanted to know if that was the likely problem. Thoughts?
1 Answer Hello Robert. You will need to check the voltage to the wall oven and make sure it is correct. Also, test the thermal cut outs on the unit. If they are good, then you will need to check the control board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Paul K. September 05, 2015 for Model Number So old can nor read. I think the very last sensor is the one for my oven. It is in the front of the oven and about 12 inches long. The oven is a Tappan brand, built in, and about 45 years old. Do you have anything for that old an oven?
1 Answer Hello Paul, The sensor you were viewing is only about 6 inches long. The age of your unit indicates it would more likely need the thermostat with the capillary and bulb for temperature control. I'm sorry but we cannot even check the archives without the model number since this is how the parts list will be pulled up. You may need to remove the old one and carry it to an appliance repair parts company to match the part up with a satisfactory replacement. Read More...
Js February 06, 2015 for Model Number JSP42BK3BB I have a GE electric stove model JSP42BK3BB, I recently noticed that the display on oven started pre heating very fast (set oven to 300 and display said it was there within 4 minutes). I noticed the bake element does go on and off during pre heating, should it stay on constantly? The broil element does come on when set to broil. I replaced the sensor but the display still indicates it is pre heated to set temperature within minutes. I put a thermometer inside the oven and it eventually showed temp approx. 25 degrees lower. Any ideas what could be causing this all of the sudden and also do you recommend a certain thermometer to test the oven temp? Thank you
1 Answer JS, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty oven sensor part number WB23T10015. Read More...
Paul January 09, 2015 for Model Number JTP48CF3CC The broiler element burned apart in the upper oven near the terminal ends of the element and near the temperature sensor. I replaced the element and now the oven heats up for a few minutes and then shuts off. It is not tripping the breaker. The display just reverts to the time of day and does not display any codes. It seems as if the oven temperature is above the programmed temperature when it shuts off. The lower oven works normally. Could the temperature sensor been damaged during the burn out of the original element or the relay board?
1 Answer Paul, The oven sensor would most likely not be the cause for this issue. This issue with the unit bake shutting off would more likely be a control issue. If the entire unit shuts off and then powers back on then the issue could be that the cooling fan is not running. For this issue you would want to check thermal limiters to make sure that they are good. Read More...
Gale October 25, 2014 for Model Number JT965SOK4SS My GE oven is not holding a consistent temperature when baking. It seems to get up to the right temperature but then will loose heat quickly. I've already had the control panel changed at great expense. I think it is the oven temperature sensor? Please help with a suggestion and a part number.
1 Answer Gale, You will want to check the oven sensor for resistance to make sure that it has 1090 ohms of resistance at room temp. If the resistance is out of tolerance then the sensor WB23T10015 would need to be replaced. Read More...
Veronica September 30, 2014 for Model Number WB23t10015 My stove is not freestanding. It's built into the cabinets, how do I put out please?

Justin September 19, 2014 for Model Number GE jtp5som1ss Hi - I have a GE jtp5som1ss double oven. When baking the heat is very erratic. We put an independent heat thermometer in the oven to confirm and it never matches what the oven says it's supposed to be at. Sometimes we have to increase the heat and sometimes we have to decrease the heat during the cooking process. Any suggestions? Thanks. Justin
1 Answer Hello Justin. You will need to check the oven sensor and see if it is bad and needs to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Kim August 29, 2014 for Model Number JDP39W0T1WW I am getting F3 code when heating oven up to 375°F. I replaced the sensor but still cant get oven to heat. I can put on 450°F and after 5 minutes get the F2 code. What do you suggest?
1 Answer Hello Kim, F3 is the fault code for an open oven sensor. You should go to the control board, remove the connector to the temperature sensor, and test for 1100 ohms at room temperature. Be sure to tap on the sensor when performing the test. If it is bad, you will need to access the sensor connector at the back of the sensor and test again for the same value. If it is there, the harness has failed. If not, the sensor WB21X5301 has failed. If the sensor and harness test good, you will need to replace the control WB27K5140. The F2 fault code indicates an over-temperature condition. This was most likely caused by the previous condition. From the condition you described, it sounds like a harness or control issue.
