Miguel April 21, 2013 for Model Number JGP963SEK2SS The spark igniter persists ticking permanently unless I unplug the unit overnight. From reading similar problems on your website, I found the two different parts below identified as a potential solution to what seems to be the same problem. "spark/ignition switches" OR "spark module" Please advise how do I identify the BEST part/solution to this problem?
1 Answer Miguel, You would want to check the continuity of the spark ignition switches. With the switches in the off position, the switches across the leads should have no continuity. If they do have continuity then the switch is bad and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Steve April 09, 2013 for Model Number ZGU36KSK1SS After cooking dinner last night one of the electrodes started to click and would not stop, I tried cleaning it still kept clicking, I had to unplug the power supply. Do I just need to replace the electrode?.
1 Answer Steve, You will want to check your ignition switches WB18T10338 to make sure that they have not gone bad. To do this, you will need to check the continuity of the switches when the valve is turned off and if there is continuity through any of them then the switch is bad and would need to be replaced. Chip P February 13, 2013 for Model Number GE Gas Top Switch Harness # WB18T10338 I believe I need to replace this based on the comments I see and how my stove top is performing. How do I access the switch? Through the top burners or in through the oven below? I've removed the knobs, but don't see a way to access the switch harness.
1 Answer Hello Chip, The spark switches are located on the valve stems for the burners. You would have to pull the control panel over the manifold off to access them. With a model number we may be able to assist further on accessing the switches.
