Dean September 04, 2021 for Model Number 17779990 The door lock light continues to flash and the dishwasher will not start.
1 Answer Hello Dean, If the model number is actually 665.17779990, you should check the door switch and associated wiring. If no problems exist, replace the control WP8530929. I'm sorry but this part WP8530929 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Judith May 14, 2018 for Model Number GE Profile PDW8800JO3BB In January my dishwasher stopped in the regular cycle before the soap was released. There was about an inch of water left in the bottom and the keypad was dark and non functional. Two days later it mysteriously started up and finished the cycle and continued to work perfectly until last Friday. Same thing happened. We took the door apart on Sat and tested it for power. There is power to all components i.e the door switch, the control board and the keypad. When we depress the door switch manually power goes to the soap dispenser too. But when we depress the switch no lights and no motor start up. We reassembled it and lo and behold again in a few hours later it started up! I opened the door and then closed it and boom - no lights, no nothing again. Yesterday I cleaned out the whole bottom removing the coarse filter, spray arms, filter basket etc. LOTS of junk. Still no lights etc. I did see that the tube sticking out of the sump was pretty deteriorated but the fine filter was able to go into it. Could that be the cause or could the door switch be faulty. Seem like the keypad and control board are working. Any help would be appreciated.
1 Answer Judith, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty main control board on the unit. Read More...
Corbin September 13, 2017 for Model Number PDW7880J00SS The 'Normal Wash' and 'Heated Dry' buttons are lit, but none of the buttons on the control panel work. The 'Time Remaining' displays 106. Could this be a door switch problem, or more likely a control panel issue?
1 Answer Hello Corbin. You can test the door switches and make sure they are good. However, it does point more toward the control panel on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Mrsp June 06, 2015 for Model Number GDF510PGD0BB All lights on dishwasher are functional except the start button. When the door is closed the dishwasher does not operate. The start button does not illuminate, nothing happens. Could this be a problem with the switch itself or with the door latch?
1 Answer Mrs P, The most likely cause for the start button to not illuminate and not function would be a faulty control panel which is part number WD34X11813. Read More...
James January 30, 2014 for Model Number GSD6600BB00 I used my continuity test to determine if the Interlock switch had a fault and found it functioned fine open/closed with the white wire but found the relay on the black wires to be open/open when I compressed/decompressed the plunger. Would this cause my LED display to fail to illuminate because it thinks the door is open?
1 Answer Hello James, This will definitely stop the unit from working since white is neutral and black is the 120Vac line. Both have to be good or the unit cannot operate. The door interlock switch WD21X10169 will need to be replaced. Read More...
Glenn September 08, 2011 for Model Number GHDA960K03WW Changed one door switch, did not find any other switch. They said I would need two? Still no power to the unit still dead. Have power to wall plug and power cord.
1 Answer Hello Glenn. The interlock switch WD21X10169 has both switches made into it. You only need 1 interlock switch. If it is good, you will test for power to the module. If there is power there and the unit is dead, you will replace the module WD21X10215. Hope this helps. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Glenn. You will disconnect the power to the unit and remove the inner door liner. Once removed, you can access and replace the door switches WD21X10169 on most models.
