Jill February 21, 2023 for Model Number GLWN2800D1WS Washer fills fine for washing any size load, but when it comes to the rinse cycle it fills with barely enough water to cover clothes. We’ve blown out the tube connected to the pressure switch, but it didn’t help. Should we replace the pressure switch completely? Thank you
1 Answer Jill, the manufacturer has designed this unit to not utilize as much water during a rinse cycle as it would the initial fill. However, if the power rinse selection is used, it is designed to allow the rinse cycle to fill up close to the same amount as used in an initial fill. Read More...
Sue August 05, 2020 for Model Number GLWN2800D1WS My machine stopped filling up with water, on the cold side. So I took the cold water side and hooked it up on the hot water side on the back of the machine. It will fill to wash it will spin out, but when it gets to where it needs to add water for the rinse cycle, no water will come in, so I have to put it back on the wash cycle to fill it up with water then I turn it back on the rinse cycle and let it finish. Do I need a new valve body and a timer?
1 Answer Sue, it would be recommended that the cold water valve is tested during a fill cycle to see if it is getting 120VAC. If it is getting 120 volts, only the valve WH13X23974 would need to be replaced. Read More...
Kathy March 14, 2018 for Model Number GLWN2800D0WS The load size knob shaft broke off inside the knob itself. We are trying to find the replacement shaft for our GE washing machine. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
1 Answer Kathy, The knob control shaft isn't available as a separate service part. You will need to replace the WH12X10479 / WH12X10479 Switch, Pressure. The part is in stock and available at this time. Make sure you remove power to the washer, before you start, and make sure there tub is empty and there's no water remaining when you disconnect the air tube from the pressure switch. Dave January 02, 2018 for Model Number GLWN2800D0WS Is there a way to test the pressure switch or the solenoids on the inlet valve to determine if these parts need replacement. My machine starts to fill then the water stops and sits for 15 minutes to an hour before restarting. Water flow sometimes is very slow other times normal
1 Answer Dave, If the washer fills with water then this would not be an issue with the water valve. If the unit only fills slightly before this happens then check to make sure that there is power to both of the water valves. If this checks ok then you will want to check to see if there are any codes on the motor that are flashing and use the tech sheet to see what the code represents. Read More...
Mike H June 26, 2015 for Model Number GTWN2800DWW I just purchased this GE washer (GTWN2800DWW). The version of the washer I received seems to be newer and tries to save water by not filling the tub with much water. Choosing the super size setting barely fills the tub half way full. It seems previous models of this washer did fill the tub and I'm wondering if there is a pressure switch available from the previous version that will allow more water in the tub. Thank you for your help.
1 Answer Mike, There is not a pressure switch that will work for this model to fill the tub up completely. The unit is designed this way and cannot be changed due to the control board. Read More...
Larry October 20, 2013 for Model Number GLWN2800DWS Looking for a replacement for the "Load Size" switch. Is this the switch listed as Item #10, Pressure Switch, in the parts diagram? The switch is located in the left-most position on the control panel when facing the front of the machine.
1 Answer Larry, Correct, the "Load Size" switch and the "pressure switch" WH12X10479 are one and the same. You also want to check the "Pressure Switch Hose" WH41X365 make sure it's not twisted, kinked or clogged. ( blow in the end of the hose when you remove it from the switch). Make sure the tub is completely empty when you install the switch. Read More...
