Betty B Vernon , NJ May 31, 2014 The original valve for the cold water wasn't shutting off completely and would leak quite a bit after the wash cyle and again after the rinse cycle My husband fixed it, he took out the leaky valve and replaced it with the new valve, which we received in the mail from your company, which was only a short time after we ordered it. Thank you for being so prompt. Our washer is only a little over 2 years old and upon looking online, we found out this model has since been discontinued due to problems. The parts are no longer available from GE, so we were thrilled to find your company online which carried the part. It saved us a lot of money for either a repair person or another new washing machine!!!! Again thank you, we will not hesitate to order from you again should we need to. Charles O Williamsburg , VA October 31, 2016 No hot water getting to wash cycle on my ge washing machine Check hot water heater (on). Check production of hot water at a sink tap (hot water was there). Disconnected hot water hose at washer (hot water was coming out of hose.) Google for possible causes (found water inlet valve was usual problem). Ordered new inlet valve from AppliancePartPro (new inlet show up a couple of days later.) Watched video on replacing inlet valve (looked pretty straight-forward). Took about 15 minutes to replace valve. (Had to run back down to basement to get nut driver - I brought up a Philips-head screw driver first time around - wrong). The hardest part (and not counted in my 15 minutes) was wrestling the dryer out of the way and getting the washer out of the overflow pan it was sitting in so I could move it from the wall - had to lift washer, push 2X4s under it to raise it above the lip of the pan, and then put more 2X4s outside the pan to slide the washer onto. (the pan was not movable, because of the drain pipe in its bottom that effectively fastened the pan to the floor). Then, after the valve replacement, I had to slide the washer back into the pan and remove the 2X4s from under it. This procedure was by far a bigger pain than making the actual repair. Hot water is now getting into the washer as it should. :-) Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers
Greg T Summerville , GA April 16, 2017 Constant drip from fill valve / hoses Once I removed the front control panel it was evident that the valve was faulty casing a constant leak. Referenced model number of machine on AppliancePartsPros.com and found the OEM replacement part. Item was ordered at 4:33 pm on a Thursday afternoon, item was received the very next day on my doorstep at 2:30 pm. Two screws removed and one inner hose, electrical disconnected and new valve replaced in reverse order. It took all of 3 minutes total. Problem tested and solved. Repair was quick with minor effort using a screw driver and pliers. Repair would have cost close to $100 if a serviceman completed it. Self repair less than $40 with shipping.
