Scott June 18, 2016 for Model Number GTW460ASJ4WW We just bought this washer and noticed after setting it up that the knob does not match up even with the cycles, so I am not exactly sure which cycle it is set to. So is there anyway to fix this or should I return it?
1 Answer Hello Scott, Pull the knob WH01X24377 straight off and check for damage on the bottom of the knob. If none, the control WH22X38441C will have to be replaced. Read More...
Travis March 05, 2016 for Model Number GE WCSR4170G0WW My washer cycles and dial do not seem to line up correctly. For example, the washer will not fill with water or drain when it suppose to according to the dial. Do I need to replace the timer/dial mechanism?
1 Answer Travis, The timer knob and skirt would be the most likely causes for the unit to not start at the correct cycle. Read More...
Robert October 28, 2015 for Model Number WHDRR418G1WW Found transmission fluid under the tube near the seal and it will not agitate it spins and drains.
1 Answer Hello Robert. It sounds like the mode shifter WH38X10017 may be bad and need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Garry July 27, 2015 for Model Number WHDSR316G1WW My washer fills up and doesn't stop running water. Seems like the button doesn't move. When you manually move the button it won't agitate, but it will work on drain. On occasion it will spin on the drain side of the cycle but will sound like the belt is slipping. Now it won't move at all agitate or spin, just fill and drain. I can move the drum free hand spins fine. The washer is a General Electric serial # AR177817G. Is it the switch or agitator related problem.
1 Answer Hello Garry. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit. Read More...
Tom September 02, 2014 for Model Number WJRR4170G0WW My machine will go through the wash cycle but will not drain or spin even though the timer continues to tick and the dial continues to move. Does this sound like a timer issue? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Tom. No, it does not sound like the timer. You will need to check the drain pump and the lid switch on the unit. Either if bad, will cause the issue your having. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Scubadude March 30, 2014 for Model Number WHDRR418G0WW Hello, I have a GE WHDRR418G0WW washer. My question is the same as a couple of other questions that have already been asked but the model number of my washer is different... Something apparently broke in the timer knob. It spins freely when I push it in and I can not select cycles any more. However, I can push on the ring around / under the timer knob and turn it to select a cycle. Then when I pull on the timer knob the machine works normally in the selected cycle. So my question is... Do I need to replace just the knob or the ring and the knob or the whole timer, the ring, and the knob?
Kerry January 22, 2014 for Model Number WJRR4170G0WW I know the knob is stripped but what the correct timer to be used for this model because the plastic teeth are also stripped on the timer.
Dave January 17, 2014 for Model Number WDSR2080G3WW I have two questions that will be easy for you. First, could you please advise what timer assembly part number fits this top load washer? Also, I watched the on-line video showing to hold the back of the timer shaft and steadily pulling the knob off by hand. I've been trying, and have started cracking the knob when I tried to pry it off with a screw driver. Is the know supposed to just pull off, or is there another way to get the part off so the whole assembly can be removed. Could you please advise the part number for a timer knob for this washer? Thank you very much for your help.
1 Answer Hello Dave. WH12X10338 is the correct timer. You must remove the locking clip on the back of the knob before you can remove the knob. It pulls out with needle nose pliers. Read More...
Angela November 25, 2013 for Model Number WJRR4170G0WW The timer knob turns but seems like it doesn't grab like it is stripped. You push it down and it wont move to turn on but you can still push the button down to start the cycle, you just cant turn the knob to get there. Do you think that would be the timer or the knob?
1 Answer Hello Angela. It sounds like the control knob WH01X10310 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
