Joe January 26, 2023 for Model Number WHDRR418G1WW Hello - The electrical connector for the timer, WH12X10348, on the female / harness side has what looks to be a corroded female pin. Specifically the for the white wire which I believe is neutral. How do I repair this? Is a replacement connector assembly available? If not, what options do I have? Thank you.
1 Answer Joe, The part number for the terminal would be WD1X1434D but has been discontinued. Read More...
Scott July 23, 2022 for Model Number GE WJSR4160G1WW The timer knob and timer teeth no longer engage. Both are almost flat. The timer, WH12x10348, is no longer available. Do you have a compatible replacement timer that will work with my washer or if there even is one?
1 Answer Scott, Thanks for the question!!! NLA means that the manufacturer has not made a replacement known. Read More...
Jill February 06, 2022 for Model Number wjrr4170g2ww Our washer will intermittently have a problem where the water keeps flowing through the tub (it continues to fill and drain simultaneously), never engaging the agitator, or spin cycle. This will cause our water heater to run out of hot water, and if we're not careful, overload our sump pump, causing our basement to flood. This seems to happen more frequently on the largest load setting, with possibly heavier items. The control knob and backing plate for the control knob has also been damaged by a previous owner in a way that forces us to use two hands, pressing down the knob and turning the backing plate (the backing plate is warped) together to start a load. Could our problem be the timer? Backing plate and/or knob? Or all of the above? Thanks for any help!
1 Answer Jill, it would be recommended that the drain hose is checked to ensure that only 6-8" is placed in the standpipe as any more can cause a vacuum effect, siphoning out water as it fills (if the drain pump is not activating). If the drain pump is activated during this time, the failure would be in the timer WH12X10348. Unfortunately, this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available. Cecil May 15, 2020 for Model Number WJRR4170G2WW The picture of the timer AP3995038 is the part that is broken on my GE washer, but the repair video shows a different part. The biege colored timer is what I have. The black one in the video is not a suitable replacement. The black one appears easy to replace, but the white one does not appear to be DIY. - The problem is the knob will no longer catch and change cycles. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Cecil, You can try replacing the timer knob WH01X10310 and dial WH11X10049 but normally a problem with the timer WH12X10348 will cause the knob and dial to fail so it will have to be replaced as well. Read More...
Crystal August 05, 2019 for Model Number WJSR4160G2WW model WJSR4160G2WW. For regular cycles, the tub fills with water but then the agitator does not activate or move. The cycles all continue through with draining, rinsing, spinning, etc, but the agitator never engages until it hits the 2nd rinse, then works perfectly. Could this be a timer issue?
1 Answer Hello Crystal, yes, that is a timer problem, the replacement part is WH12X10348. Read More...
William October 31, 2018 My knob does not connect to change load cycles. How can I be sure it is the knobs that need to be placed instead of the timer? I can turn the knobs with difficulty and the machine works.
1 Answer William, Without the model, I can't tell you the part number but you will need the timer knob and insert. Read More...
Dirk K September 16, 2018 for Model Number WJRR4170G2WW When I start the washer, it fills okay . It starts the wash cycle and starts to agitate slowly than stops, timer continues. It does the same thing in rinse.
1 Answer Dirk, You will want to check the light on the motor inverter and see if it is flashing in a certain pattern. Then look at the tech sheet to see what the code is indicating. Read More...
Neil September 23, 2017 for Model Number WHDRR418G2WW I have a Ge washer with two Problems. A timer was ordered because the washer wasn't going through the cycles. The replacement I got was ERWH12X10348. This timer came with a mounting plate that's preventing me from mounting the knob its not allowing the shaft to extend enough. The other problem is the washer motor is still humming after the cycle is done and the machine is off. I looked at the inside of the harness and saw that some of the pins looked a bit scorched can this be causing the machine the motor to hum when it should be off
1 Answer Neil, This is the correct timer and it sounds like you may not be getting it slid into the slots that hold it properly. As for the burnt connectors, yes this could be causing the issue that you are having with the motor humming in the off position but also check the wiring of the unit. Read More...
Ben September 05, 2017 for Model Number WJRR4170G2WW I think I have a bad timer for my GE washer, model WJRR4170G2WW. For all cycles, the tub fills with water but then the agitator does not activate or move. The cycles all continue through with draining, rinsing, spinning, etc, but the agitator never engages. Could this be a timer issue? I also checked the agitator coupler and that part is not stripped and appears to be in good working order. The belt also is in working order.
1 Answer Hello Ben, you'll want to remove the front panel from your washer by releasing the two clips located underneath the front of the lid. Once you've removed the front panel, you want to look for a blinking light on your motor. If you can count 4 rapid blinks and a pause, the unit has detected an issue with the mode shifter WH38X10017. You can perform an ohms test on the mode shifter to verify it's defective, it should read across the red and yellow wire approximately 98 ohms at room temperature 10% -/+. If all this is good, you'll want to test for power when the unit goes into an agitate cycle at the pins for the mode shifter connector. For the first 15 seconds of the agitate cycle you should be getting 135 vdc, after that you should only be getting 30 vdc. If no power is present, you'll want to make sure the harness is good before replacing the timer WH12X10348. Hope this helps! Read More...
Bettye R December 31, 2016 for Model Number WCXR1070T5WW Where is the model number located on the timer?
