Moriah July 19, 2015 for Model Number GTWP2005M0CC I just replace this timer in my washing machine.... It is still over flowing in the fill cycle.. Any suggestions??? I would hate to have to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a new washing machine for a $60 part.
1 Answer Hello Moriah. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit. Read More...
John Oh October 15, 2014 for Model Number GE wh12x10478 This is John again. When I turn wash oh with cold /cold or even warm/cold, water keeps draining at the same time and drains a little water even through hot water line too. when I checked a connector for water pump with wash cycle on using multimeter, it indicates no voltages. Thanks
1 Answer Hello John. You need to check the drain hose. It is siphoning out the water in the unit. Read More...
John O. October 12, 2014 for Model Number WH12X10478 When I set to wash cycle, water drops but also drains too. I thought drain should not happen during wash cycle. Second, when I set it in spin cycle, I only hear electricity sound without real spin. Is this normal? Thank you Sincerely
1 Answer John, Check the height of the drain hose and stand pipe. Standard practice is 29 to 30 inches high from the floor. If the drain or hose is less than that, the water can be syphoned out of the tub during the wash cycle. Before the washer can spin, it has to drain the tub empty and the water level switch has to reset. Make sure the drain pump is working and check the water level switch and hose to make sure there is no sediment or debris in the hose/air tube. Read More...
John Oh October 06, 2014 for Model Number GE wh12x10478 I'd like to know how to remove front knob from back part because one side screw holding plastic fix part is broken and knob is not staying from round washer. thank you
1 Answer John, When you pull the knob out there should be a clip on the back side of the knob that you will pull out to get the knob off. Read More...
John July 26, 2014 for Model Number GE GTWN3000M0WS Machine was stuck in drain, pump kept running. Bought a new timer and installed This lasted 2 weeks using washer every day. It's now doing the same thing. I'm pretty sure replacing the timer will fix it but I don't want to buy a new timer in 2 weeks. I know new parts can fail but I'm hesitant to get another. I took the old timer apart and didn't find any burned contacts. I put power to the timer motor and the cams turned. What do you think?
1 Answer John, Based on the problem description, it does sound like the timer would be the cause of the failure. You can test at the R16 terminal on the timer to R15 and see if there is power at this point. If there is then the contacts would appear to be sticking causing the drain pump to stay on. Also you could look for any wires that may be shorted to ground in the pump circuit. Read More...
Stressedmother July 06, 2014 for Model Number HTWP1000M0WW My washer will not switch over to the next cycle, for example it will drain, but won't spin, or it will start off by filling up with water, but won't shift over to begin the wash cycle? Is this the timer?
1 Answer Stressedmother, With the issue happening at different points in the cycle and not being consistent then the timer would most likely be the issue. Read More...
Matt July 02, 2014 for Model Number gtwn3000mows The water over flows when set to extra large setting. Yet works fine on the large setting. Would this be the pressure switch or the load size selector knob/assembly? Or something else?
1 Answer Hello Matt. Make sure the air dome is not clogged on the tub assembly. If not, you will need to replace the pressure switch on the unit. Read More...
Paul June 06, 2014 for Model Number gtwn3000MOWS The washer will not wash on cold/cold cycle. The washer will rinse with cold water, but not fill with cold water for wash. The inlet screen is not clogged and again the cold rinse works fine. The warm/cold cycle uses hot water only for washing as well. What part might be faulty?
1 Answer Paul, There are two possibilities, the timer WH12X10478, there could be a faulty contact inside the timer, not allowing power to the cold water solenoid on the fill have. The water temp. switch WH12X10477 may have a faulty contact to the cold water valve as well. But it is most likely a timer issue. Read More...
David E. May 29, 2014 for Model Number GCWP1000M0WW HELLO my GE washer will not Rinse properly just fills party with water then aggitates for a few seconds then completly stops. Thank You.
1 Answer Hello David, I would first check the pressure sensor and make sure the pressure sensor hose is not crimped or clogged. If this checks out ok, unplug and reconnect each electrical connector to the control at least three times in case corrosion is present. You should also check for fault codes on the LED on the motor. A 10-Flash error on the Motor indicates lost communication. If you see a steady ½ second-ON ½ second-OFF Motor light flash, this indicates a Lid Switch OPEN. A 7-Flash error on the Motor light indicates Lid Switch NOT OPEN. Read More...
Felicia May 14, 2014 for Model Number GCWP1000MOWW The wash cycle is fine however on the rinse cycle the tub does not fill to a sufficient level to get the soap out. I have to go back to use the wash cycle so that the clothes could rinse properly. I changed the control timer on it before for this same issue. Could it be something else that is being overlooked? Or maybe the timer is faulty?
1 Answer Felicia, You will want to check the pressure hose and pressure dome on the side of the tub to make sure that there is nothing that would cause it to clog or be restricted. Also check the screens on the inlet hose of the cold water side to ensure that the screen is not clogged by debris. If this checks ok then it would sound like the timer would be the issue.
