John for Model Number GE GTWN3000M0WS Machine was stuck in drain, pump kept running. Bought a new timer and installed This lasted 2 weeks using washer every day. It's now doing the same thing. I'm pretty sure replacing the timer will fix it but I don't want to buy a new timer in 2 weeks. I know new parts can fail but I'm hesitant to get another. I took the old timer apart and didn't find any burned contacts. I put power to the timer motor and the cams turned. What do you think?
Answer John, Based on the problem description, it does sound like the timer would be the cause of the failure. You can test at the R16 terminal on the timer to R15 and see if there is power at this point. If there is then the contacts would appear to be sticking causing the drain pump to stay on. Also you could look for any wires that may be shorted to ground in the pump circuit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, July 29, 2014
