Mike A January 07, 2016 for Model Number fa754484a I need to see a diagram on how to wire the timer on my dryer ?
1 Answer Hello Mike. The model number will have to be verified on the units I.D. tag since the one listed came up invalid. This will be necessary to look up and specific parts such as the one you requested. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please call 1-877-477-7278 or post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
Greg R. March 29, 2015 for Model Number DRSR483GG1WW Hello: I want to be able to replace my timer (Part #AP5805478) on my GE Dryer (Model #DRSR483GG1WW) since the plastic shaft finally broke on it from using a pair of pliers for months. Could you kindly give me a tip on how to remove it from the dryer? I don't see any screws and I've tried to really push down on it a clockwise motion based on the way it's mounted, but it doesn't budge. I really hope to hear back from you soon. Signed, Not too handy.
1 Answer Greg, It's not going to be too difficult, First thing, remove power to the dryer. Then Remove the four screws holding the top of the control panel to the top console. Pull the top of the console towards you, you may have to move the control panel in a side to side motion to release the bottom tabs that hold the panel to the dryer top panel. Once you have the console released and laid down on the top of the dryer, you'll need a small flat blade screw driver to release the two metal tabs from the console support plate and turn the timer in a counter clockwise direction and remove the timer. Label or mark all the wires on the timer, before you disconnect them. Place the new timer in the console, turn it clockwise to lock the timer retainer clips in place, then attach the wires to the appropriate terminals. Reverse the procedure, install the timer knob and test the dryer for operation. Read More...
Droth July 07, 2013 for Model Number DWSR463EG6WW Does the timer unit (AP3995100) come with the handle? my old plastic handle piece cracked because the timer peg was too tight to turn. I've been using pliers ever since, but figure it's time to fix it right. But the old handle piece is cracked and I'm not sure if I have to order one, or if one comes with the timer unit. thanks
1 Answer Eileen, You will need to pull the timer knob straight off, there will be screws on the control panel to remove in order to pull the control panel out. Once the control panel is access you remove the old timer and install the new. We do not have printed instructions for this. Read More...
Chris December 30, 2012 for Model Number eed5600g1ww This is the replacement timer that comes up with my dryer model number, however, it appears to have one less terminal then my current timer. It looks like a connecton for the wrinkle care switch is missing. My current timer has three terminal connections at the C terminal. I do have one open, unused terminal, the F terminal. Could this be used for the wrinkle care wire?
1 Answer Hello Chris, You could use a piggy back terminal to connect the two brown wires to the C terminal on the timer or put a joint spade on the wires for the terminal. Read More...
Paul June 03, 2012 for Model Number DWSR463EG7WW How difficult is it to replace this part? I have the tools and lots of experience repairing things.
1 Answer Hello Paul, This is not difficult at all. The important thing to remember is when you get the old timer loose from the machine, hold the new timer next to it and move one wire at a time from the old timer to the new one. This prevents you from looking for a wiring diagram and trying to figure out how to wire the timer with a handful of wires hanging loose. Other than that, the timer change out is a basic repair.
