This timer is the cycle control for your dryer, advancing through the settings and switching circuits on and off as selected. Replacing a failed timer restores accurate cycle timing and dependable start/stop control.

  • Advances the dryer through the selected cycle and turns it off at the end
  • Routes power to components according to the timer cam and contacts
  • Supports timed and automatic cycles selected by the control knob
  • Common symptoms: timer doesn't advance, dryer runs too long or won't shut off, stops mid-cycle, or won't start on certain settings
What's included: Timer assembly only Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the dryer (and shut off gas supply for gas models) before servicing
  • Access the control console; photograph/label wiring and transfer terminals to the new timer one at a time
  • Reuse existing knob and mounting hardware; ensure the timer shaft is oriented correctly before reassembly

Sam, With the heating element staying on this would be a indication of either a stuck motor switch that sends power to the heater. If this switch is sticking then the motor will need to be replaced. Or a grounded heating element with the element sagging and touching metal. Check the element first.

Martin, To get the timer replaced you will need to pull the unit out and remove the screws from the back of the control panel which will give you access to the timer. The screws should be Phillips head.
