Will June 22, 2017 for Model Number WM3470HWA I have a similar question to Sherm's. Soapy water is coming out of the vent during the spin cycle. It's more than 1/4 cup though... maybe 1 cup. We always fill the detergent to the "normal" line. I took off the end of the hose attached to the drum and noticed there was a plunger inside which looks to be a check valve to prevent water from escaping during the spin cycle. Do these plungers go bad? Or is this problem simply from too much soap? It doesn't happen every time, so I'm leaning towards the "too much soap" scenario. Thanks.
1 Answer Will, This issue would be caused by using a non HE detergent or too much detergent for the unit. You want to make sure that the detergent you are using is an HE detergent. Read More...
Sam June 04, 2015 for Model Number LGWM2016CW I have a drip going at the top rear of the unit. I took off the back access plate and can see water dripping off of part # AP4436601 Bellows. I do not see it dripping above the bellows, but I am not sure how to confirm the bellows is leaking. Also, trying to understand if this is something I can replace. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Sam. Look for tears in the door boot. It does sound like it is leaking. Remove the top of the washer to confirm it is the boot. These are not easy to replace, but can be done. Read More...
Oscar L. December 26, 2014 for Model Number LGR7646EQ3 Our washing machine leaks water from the bellows outlet whenever we wash blankets/covers. Only two blankets cause this leak. Sometimes it's considerable water and others not very much.

West December 21, 2014 for Model Number LG WD10134T machine no longer washing properly. - application of soap is poor - soap vanishes from the dispenser when turned on (as normal) - but very little of it enters the drum - some of the soap is visible on the spin/drain cycle - no error code is shown. Water inlet is fully functional; drain is fully functional. What could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello West. Check and see if the water is siphoning out of the tub and the soap is siphoning out with it. If so, pull some of the drain hose out of the stand pipe. Read More...
Sherm August 10, 2012 for Model Number wm2050cw I have about 1/4 cup of water coming out the overflow or the vent for the tub. What would make that happen?
1 Answer Hello Sherm, The only thing that can cause this is an over soap situation. Two main causes would be use of non-high efficiency detergent and too much detergent. The high efficiency detergent will not suds like the "top load" detergent. Plus, as per the manufacturer, a normally soiled load should only get 1 tablespoon of the high efficiency detergent. It is a universal belief that if a little does good, a lot will do great. Unfortunately, this is simply not true. The fact of the matter is that whatever is added has to be rinsed away. In a high efficiency machine, you only fill with about 7 to 9 gallons per fill. In comparison to a top load machine which fills with 17 to 22 gallons per fill. So it is easy to see why the top load machine can rinse away more detergent. This is why you cannot use as much detergent in a high efficiency machine. To quote the service manual: Is a low-sudsing detergent used? Is the proper amount of detergent used as recommended? Recommend to reduce the correct amount of detergent. Is liquid laundry product put in the correct compartment of the dispenser? Explain the proper use of liquid laundry products. Read More...
