The Vent Hose is an OEM part for LG washing machines. This hose is essential for ensuring proper ventilation within the washer, allowing air to circulate and preventing the buildup of moisture and mildew. It helps maintain the efficiency of the washing machine by facilitating the expulsion of air and excess water vapor during operation.

Causes of a bad washer vent hose can include wear and tear over time, blockages from lint or debris, or damage due to bending or pinching.

Symptoms of a bad vent hose include:

  • Excessive moisture or condensation inside the washer
  • Musty odors from the washing machine
  • Visible cracks or holes in the hose
  • Poor ventilation leading to inefficient washing cycles

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.

For Lg Vent Hose (Part Number: OEM13309812)

Will for Model Number WM3470HWA

I have a similar question to Sherm's. Soapy water is coming out of the vent during the spin cycle. It's more than 1/4 cup though... maybe 1 cup. We always fill the detergent to the "normal" line. I took off the end of the hose attached to the drum and noticed there was a plunger inside which looks to be a check valve to prevent water from escaping during the spin cycle. Do these plungers go bad? Or is this problem simply from too much soap? It doesn't happen every time, so I'm leaning towards the "too much soap" scenario. Thanks.

Will, This issue would be caused by using a non HE detergent or too much detergent for the unit. You want to make sure that the detergent you are using is an HE detergent.

Hello Sam. Look for tears in the door boot. It does sound like it is leaking. Remove the top of the washer to confirm it is the boot. These are not easy to replace, but can be done.

Hello West. Check and see if the water is siphoning out of the tub and the soap is siphoning out with it. If so, pull some of the drain hose out of the stand pipe.

Hello Sherm, The only thing that can cause this is an over soap situation. Two main causes would be use of non-high efficiency detergent and too much detergent. The high efficiency detergent will not suds like the "top load" detergent. Plus, as per the manufacturer, a normally soiled load should only get 1 tablespoon of the high efficiency detergent. It is a universal belief that if a little does good, a lot will do great. Unfortunately, this is simply not true. The fact of the matter is that whatever is added has to be rinsed away. In a high efficiency machine, you only fill with about 7 to 9 gallons per fill. In comparison to a top load machine which fills with 17 to 22 gallons per fill. So it is easy to see why the top load machine can rinse away more detergent. This is why you cannot use as much detergent in a high efficiency machine. To quote the service manual: Is a low-sudsing detergent used? Is the proper amount of detergent used as recommended? Recommend to reduce the correct amount of detergent. Is liquid laundry product put in the correct compartment of the dispenser? Explain the proper use of liquid laundry products.
