Symptoms of a bad Ice Dispenser Button include:

  • The button not responding or requiring extra force to activate
  • Ice not dispensing when the button is pressed
  • The button sticking in the pressed position
  • Visible damage or wear to the button

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.

Mike, the ice dispenser switch 6600JB3001F would need to be tested for continuity. If it has continuity when pressed, and water is able to dispense normally, the most likely cause of failure would be the dispenser control ABQ72940005 based on the provided information.

Chuck

Hi - in another question: ANSWER Chuck, Yes, the ice dispenser button ABH74219702 would be correct for your unit and the spring would be part number MHY62603705. The MHY62603705 is not the left/right springs that I am missing for the ABD7429702. I need the spring on the inside bottom right side that keeps the lever in a closed position. Without it, whenever I push on the lever to dispense ice, a light comes/stays on and then the ice dispenser motor will just keep dispensing ice.

AMC, the best way to replace the paddle is to remove the entire dispenser cover using a putty knife. Once the cover assembly is removed, the paddle will have clips in the back that can be moved to allow the paddle to be removed.
