Karen Evans December 21, 2019 for Model Number LMV2031ST/00 A sponge dried and started on fire in my microwave. The power died before I could turn it off. I have tested the fuse - it is fine. I have tested the thermostat and (despite having scorch marks) is ok. Could the wire leads going from the thermostat be faulty? If so, how can I order replacements -- I don't see them list under parts?
1 Answer Karen, It is possible to have bad connectors and unfortunately, the manufacturer does not list wire connections separately. You would need to cut off the old connectors and splice new ones on. Read More...
Jake February 06, 2018 for Model Number Kenmore 721.62629200 Does the high voltage diode from the capacitor attach to the terminals that go to the magnetron or the transformer?
Niccook1 February 05, 2017 for Model Number Kenmore/Sears Microwave Model 72180032700 Regarding Kenmore/Sears Microwave Model 72180032700 a] Is Diode Part Number AP4438388 the diode that should be replaced at the same time that I replace a bad magnetron on this oven? If not, what diode with part number is the correct one to replace? [In other customer questions, you advise replacing both mangnetron and diode at the same time.] b] What is the parts diagram number/label for Diode Part Number AP4438388 as it appears on the parts diagram for this diode? Is it diagram part number 5018? [Note: Parts diagram in question and diode page from which it is linked are referenced below] c] What is the name and the APP stock part number for the part that is labeled Part 5000 on the diode diagram, to which diagram part number 5018 connects? Diode AP4438388 part page: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/lg-diode-6021w3b001v-ap4438388.html Parts diagram linked from Diode AP4438388 part page: http://cdn-d.appliancepartspros.com/0028701923_4.gif THANK YOU
1 Answer Niccook1, The diode for this unit will be part number 6021W3B001V and it would not be a bad idea to replace at the same time as the magnetron. The diode is number 5018 in the diagram and on the unit would connect to the base of the unit and the capacitor which would be the number 5000 on the diagram and is part number 0CZZW1H004B. Hitesh December 12, 2015 for Model Number 72167601790 Every thing comes on and some times heat food too. Most of the time it is not heat foods but when fan comes on then it is heating food can you let me know what can be wrong is it door switch, thermal fuse, diode or magnetron?
1 Answer Hitesh, You will want to check the thermostats in the unit for continuity. If they test ok then the issue, with this being a intermittent problem, will be a faulty control board. Read More...
Doug December 12, 2014 for Model Number 721.6912 What might be the problem if my microwave oven comes on and runs, but doesn't heat?
1 Answer Doug, In most cases when a microwave operates but does not heat, the issue would be caused by a faulty magnetron. You can test the magnetron for resistance which should have less than 1 ohm of resistance. Read More...
Joel April 06, 2014 for Model Number 72180019401 The original diode in my Kenmore microwave (72180019401) had a single diode connected to the cap and to ground. The replacement diode I ordered has two diodes one with a ring terminal (I assume goes to ground like the old one) and one with a spade terminal. What should I do with the second diode? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Joel, This capacitor is designed to replace the capacitor in several models. Some of these models use a different connection for the diode, therefore, the one that is not of the same configuration is for a different model and can be thrown away as an extra part. Read More...
Gary H. December 23, 2012 for Model Number LMV 1630WW LG SERIAL # 604TAQP1396. STARTED HUMMING (LOUDER SOUND). STOPPED CYCLE AFTER ABOUT 1-2 MINUTES...SLIGHT BURNING ORDER..FOOD NOT HEATED. WHAT PARTS ARE NEEDED, PROBABILITY OF REPAIR? UNIT IS 5-6 YRS OLD...IS IT WORTH FIXING
1 Answer Gary, The first inclination would be to check or replace the capacitor 0CZZW1H004C and diode 6851W1A001V. If eithert is weak or failed, this can produce a loud buzzing noise, odor, and a no cook situation. There's also a posibility that the transformer 6170W1D052Z or magnetron 2B71165R has failed. All these components are high voltage, and you'll need to be very careful and make sure the power is disconnected, and the capacitor is discharged before you start any repairs or tests. Read More...
Keith August 22, 2011 for Model Number 721.80014100 Is this the high voltage diode that is connected to the high voltage capacitor. Why is it called the cable assembly? Can I get technical support to confirm what the ohm reading in both direction should be?
1 Answer Hello Keith. Yes, the cable assembly 6021W3B001V is the diode for the model number you provided. You should only be able to read through the diode in one direction. If the diode reads both ways, it is bad. Hope this helps. Read More...
