This essential component ensures that the washer operates smoothly without emitting disruptive sounds that can affect both the performance of the washer and the comfort of your home environment.

Causes of a bad Noise Filter Assembly can range from wear and tear over time to exposure to power surges or electrical spikes, which can damage the internal components of the filter.

Symptoms of a bad Noise Filter Assembly include:

  • Increased electrical noise or buzzing sounds emanating from the washer
  • Intermittent disruptions in the washer's performance
  • The washing machine failing to start or experiencing power fluctuations

This OEM LG part is also compatible with some Kenmore models.

Scott for Model Number LDF5545BD/00

LG dishwasher LDF5545BD will not power up. Good power at breaker, junction box, and noise filter. The red LED on the PCB will light upon application of power. A voltage detector will indicate power on the right/back-of-unit side of the board about to the position of the LED, but then reads nothing on the left/front-of-unit side. Unsure as to what to go after next, whether it could be a partly bad PCB, maybe a bad harness somewhere, or the front control panel. Any advice as to what to troubleshoot next would be appreciated. Thanks.

Scott, if a 5vdc signal voltage will not leave the main control AGM76429503 to the user interface, then it has failed and would need to be replaced. The voltage can be tested using the main control connection CN1 from pin 8 to pin 3.

Kristi for Model Number LDP6797ST/00

I think i need to replace the noise filter on my dishwasher. It wont power on at all. Based off some videos I think it not too difficult a process since my dishwasher comes right out (last owners never secured it). My issue is I cant figure out how to get to this specific models noise filter which may be on the bottom in the back. There is a larger control panel with a fuse on the side. I cant find any videos on how to actually get to it to replace. Not sure what tabs and screws to undo. Do i need to undo the side one first to get to the noise filter? Do i have to take the back off? Help! Ty :)

Kristi, When you pull the unit out the noise filter should be on the side next to the control board. There should be just a couple of screws that you would need to remove in order to get the noise filter out. They are the ones holding the filter in place.

Joey M, The noise filter should be checked with a multimeter and it should be check for 120vac in and 120vac out.

Goosey for Model Number LDP6797BD

LG Dishwasher LDP6797BD; Noise Filter info on side: EAM60991316 Si80522 CZL LG-FL-02 Well, I'm actually having fun dissecting this thing seeing that I am probably just gonna end up replacing. Might as well try! Dishwasher just "poof" no power on control panel etc etc. I am getting strong light on my little Kobalt 4 way AC/DC tester from the black chord in junction box. So, 2 things. For the noise/line filter (I removed) there is epoxy. So how do I test for continuity thru epoxy. I don't even know what that means, but will my little Kobalt thing even do that? If so HOW? Couldn't you just scratch in there and put in a new fuse? Also, for the control BOARD (on side). I'll be damn if I can figure out how to push those little clips to get it to come off. I'm scared pressing it with screwdriver will bust it. I'd love to hear from you! Fun. I am a girl who is tired of people telling me I can't fix stuff AND there is no such thing as a fuse in a dishwasher!! Speaking of...is there a thermal fuse I should look at too. I wanna know it ALL...yaaay me!!

1 Answer

Goosey, Unfortunately, the Kobalt circuit tester will not work for testing the dishwasher and you will need to use a multimeter to do this. The noise filter fuse cannot be replaced and you would need to replace the noise filter. The connectors normally have a tab you push in on then pull out on the connector to release it.

Ggb for Model Number LSDF9962st

My LG dishwasher stopped powering up. If I turn off the circuit breaker for about 20 seconds and turn it back on it will work. In doing some research the noise filter appears that it could be the culprit. Can the noise filter be reset via the circuit breaker? Is there something else I should be looking for, like the control panel? Are there any reset-able fuses in this dishwasher that could cause the problem? I tried LG's diagnostic app but it says everything is fine. Thanks for any guidance you can give me! G

1 Answer

Hello GGB, if the noise filter was faulty there would be no power to the control at all, there is no reset. There are no resettable fuses in this model. Cycling the power off/on just resets the main control board. Suggest you check the wire harness linking the main control board to the control panel for any problems if ok likely it is a control panel p[roblem.

Chris, the noise filter can be tested for incoming voltage from the power cord and outgoing voltage to the unit. If there is 120VAC incoming and outgoing, then the noise filter is good. The main control EBR79686302 would be the likely failure if the noise filter has 120VAC on both sides.

Dave, If there was 220 Vac put to the dishwasher then this would be a faulty control board.
