Hello Mark, the icemaker cannot run a harvest cycle unless it reaches the correct cold temperature, it is cooled by a blower (ADJ72911301) in the freezer next to the evap fan motor, however, the blower is no longer available.

Matt, once the ice maker senses that the temperature is less than 10°F, the ice maker will be able to harvest properly. It is recommended that the ice maker is given 24 hours to produce several batches of ice.

Hello Brian, start by resetting the ice maker by turning the icemaker power switch "off" then "on", the bail arm should be in the down position, the area around the ice maker has to be below 15 deg, you can force a harvest by holding the round "cube size" selector button in for 3 seconds, if the ice maker will still not cycle then there may be an internal ice maker problem.

Duane, based on the information provided, the control in the ice maker AEQ36756912 has failed and is not cycling the valve on when necessary. The ice maker being turned off would cause the ice maker control to discharge, which can cause it to temporarily function.

Ericvq, the ice maker would not have a way of adjusting the water flow going to it. If the ice maker is getting a low flow of water, it is recommended that the tubing is inspected for any kinks or partially frozen lines. Another thing that could impact the water flow is if the water filter ADQ73613401 has become clogged. This can usually be identified as the culprit if the water dispenser in the door is providing a lower than normal water flow.

Steve, if the temperature throughout the unit is verified as being accurate, and every other component is operating properly, then the most likely suspect would be the main control. However, the model number provided appears to be an incomplete model. To ensure the correct part can be found, the entire model number would be necessary to ensure the compatible part is located.

Josh for Model Number 79577579600

I purchased a new house and the fridge ice maker and water dispenser has never worked. I've checked the line and there is water coming in to the fridge. The LED panel on the door lights up and functions as expected. But when I try and pour water nothing comes out. Additionally, the ice maker is not filling with water either and thus not making ice. There is a button that should cycle through 3 LEDs on the side of the ice maker but none of those LEDs respond when the button is pushed. Any thoughts? This is an LG ice maker inside a Kenmore fridge.

Josh, I believe with the dispenser not suppling water as well as ice maker not producing ice we have either a filter or filter head issue, frozen water tank, or water valve issue. I would start with a voltage test at the water valve looking for 120 vac when the water actuator pad is depressed. If you have voltage there try to find a disconnect before the water enters the filter to see if water flows out of the valve. No flow and your water valve needs replaced.
