John C May 12, 2018 for Model Number LFX25980ST My ice maker is not making ice. I have turned it off several times. When it restarts, it "forks" cycle through stop but no water discharges to refill the tray. I have tested the water spout on the refrigerator and it continues to dispense water so I think the ice maker has water available. Any tips to determine what steps to take next?

Dave January 26, 2018 I have an LG french door refrigerator and it leaks and fills around the icemaker with ice. I've cleaned it out twice now and it still does it. Icemaker, when cleaned out, works fine. Is there possibly a leak in the fill tube that can run the water on the outside of the icemaker?

Kay August 16, 2017 for Model Number AEQ36756901 My Kenmoore Ice maker model AEQ36756901 was not freezing and make ice. The Freezer Temperature (0 ) was correct and water is dispensing out of the door. So I replaced it last month with a new Ice maker assembly kit. It has made Ice for about a month and now its not making any ice or freezing. I let the Ice maker sit out for 24 hour to make sure nothing was frozen and put it back in and turn it on and still no ice or water was in the tray. I pour some water in the tray hoping it would freeze and get the cycle going again and still no Ice and the water I put in the tray doesn't feel as cold as I would think it should be in the Ice maker tray after several days.

J.J. May 14, 2017 for Model Number LFX25960ST Our ice maker stopped working. Not filling with water. Replaced the water valve and its still not working. Temperature in ice maker bin is 18°F. I noticed when I open the door there are two round vents that lead to the ice maker. Only one is blowing cold air. Is that correct or is the second one supposed to as well? Should I now try to replace the ice maker?
1 Answer Hello J.J., The water valve is the most common cause of icemaker failure when the unit does not fill with water. There are contacts in the icemaker that, when cycling, sends the voltage to the water valve required to open the valve for water fill. It is the second most common cause of icemaker failure. Of course, the cycling thermostat has to achieve 20°F to cycle, but you must realize that if no water or ice is in the icemaker, it has cycled without filling, so the temperature cannot be the cause.
