Jody January 03, 2017 I have a ge fridgewith ice maker. It makes ice fine but when goes to dump the arm only raises the ice halfway. If I clear the ice the arm will then keep going as normal until it is time to dump again and gets stuck half way up. Seems like not enough power torotate arm around with the ice?
1 Answer Jody, To properly assist you we will need your model number to help you with this. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
Jarwins October 18, 2016 I have an LG top refrigerator, bottom freezer. The ice maker is in the bottom freezer. Makes ice fine but has trouble getting out of the 'dumping' cycle. It keeps trying to dump the ice, making a 'knocking' sound. I can watch it turn all the way and then it just keeps trying to release the ice.
1 Answer Jarwins, This sounds like it would be a bad heater on the icemaker mold and would require the icemaker to be replaced. Read More...
1 Answer Steve, With the icemaker overflowing this would be caused by a icemaker arm that is not sensing the ice level and would require a new icemaker for this issue. Read More...
Richie September 30, 2016 for Model Number LSC26905TT My ice maker just stopped working. I did what you said below as you told someone else. I hit the hidden button, the tray cycled and dumped the ice AND refilled with water. Now waiting to see if it works on its own. If it does not dump on its own what could the problem be? model LSC26905TT. With the ice maker turned on and holding the door switch closed, press the hidden button on the bottom of the ice maker assembly (its not visible but feels rubbery). If it does not cycle, voltage to the ice maker should be verified. If 120Vac is present at the ice maker harness, the ice maker assembly 5989JA1005D needs to be replaced. If it cycles but doesn't fill with water, the water inlet valve 5221JA2006D requires replacement.
1 Answer Richie, If the icemaker does not cycle on its own this would be caused by a faulty sensor on the icemaker and the icemaker would need to be replaced. Read More...
Toby August 24, 2016 for Model Number LFC23760SB The feeler arm on the side of our icemaker seems to be stuck in the down position. Tray is empty, ice seems to have dumped fine but now the arm will not go back up. I tried removing the arm, then replaced it with no change. Also tried the reset button, which beeped but didn't seem to help. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Toby. It sounds like the icemaker 5989JA0002Y is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. This style of icemaker, the arm is suppose to stay down. There is a switch on the side that has to be turned on. If it is on, then the icemaker is bad. Read More...
Georgann August 03, 2016 for Model Number LFX28968 My ice maker makes ice. Tries to dump the ice with a lot of the thumping going on. Does not empty all the ice, turns back up and fills with water. So all the ice was not dumped and when it fills with water it becomes one big chunk. I am guessing this is because the ice was not completely dumped, and the same amount of water refilled the tray.
Luis July 27, 2016 for Model Number LFX25976ST I have an LG refrigerator French Door model #LFX25976ST. The ice maker won't dump the ice. Once it fills with water and freezes it into cubes, it makes a repetitive loud thumping noise. The temporary remedy is to shut the icemaker off, then on again to release the cubes. The tray then rolls back up and starts normal after turning the icemaker back on. After it makes more ice to fill the bin, the above action has to be repeated.
Mynameiscj July 15, 2016 for Model Number lfx31925st Hello, We have the lfx31925st and about a week ago the ice maker stopped dumping the ice. The ice maker moves about 1/8" when I turn it off and then back on. The ice maker will turn over and dump the ice and refill with water when I press the button on the bottom. How can I get this to happen automatically? It is very frustrating to pull the ice bin, press the button, and quickly replace the bin to get ice made. Thank you.
1 Answer You will need to order and replace the icemaker in the unit if the temp is set to 0 to 5°. Thanks. Read More...
