Jarwins, This sounds like it would be a bad heater on the icemaker mold and would require the icemaker to be replaced.

Steve, With the icemaker overflowing this would be caused by a icemaker arm that is not sensing the ice level and would require a new icemaker for this issue.

Richie for Model Number LSC26905TT

My ice maker just stopped working. I did what you said below as you told someone else. I hit the hidden button, the tray cycled and dumped the ice AND refilled with water. Now waiting to see if it works on its own. If it does not dump on its own what could the problem be? model LSC26905TT. With the ice maker turned on and holding the door switch closed, press the hidden button on the bottom of the ice maker assembly (its not visible but feels rubbery). If it does not cycle, voltage to the ice maker should be verified. If 120Vac is present at the ice maker harness, the ice maker assembly 5989JA1005D needs to be replaced. If it cycles but doesn't fill with water, the water inlet valve 5221JA2006D requires replacement.

Richie, If the icemaker does not cycle on its own this would be caused by a faulty sensor on the icemaker and the icemaker would need to be replaced.

Hello Toby. It sounds like the icemaker 5989JA0002Y is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. This style of icemaker, the arm is suppose to stay down. There is a switch on the side that has to be turned on. If it is on, then the icemaker is bad.
