The Door Latch Hook is an OEM replacement part for LG front load washers. It is a component of the overall latch and locking assembly and works to securely close and lock the washer door. With a properly functioning latch hook, the washer door remains tightly sealed during cycles to ensure optimal water retention and the most thorough cleaning.

Symptoms of a bad door latch hook include:

  • Water leaks around the door during washing cycles
  • The door fails to latch fully and unlock after cycles
  • Difficulty opening or closing the washer door completely
  • Alignment issues like misaligned or skewed door positions

Causes of a bad door latch hook can include wear over extended use. Damage may also result from washing hard or abrasive items that put excess strain on the latch mechanism over time.

This OEM LG part is compatible with Sears/Kenmore front-load washer models as well.

John for Model Number WM2050CW

The door lock on my LG washer will not engage. I replaced the switch assembly locker and still does not lock. It will attempt to lock two or three times and the fail to the DE code. The door hinges are not bent. I removed and disassembled the door. I took the larger portion of the inner door frame and held it in place with the latch hook inserted into the assembly locker. Then I took the handle of a screw driver and pressed the latch hook spring down against the frame. My wife started the machine and it locked and started working. Does the spring have to be placed a certain way for it to have the maximize compression of the spring? The spring does not appear to be worn or damaged. Is there a certain method to use to reassembly the door that will place the spring in the correct position? Thank you.

Hello John. If the lock assembly is new, then the latch hook has to be broke and not letting it lock. When you did it manually, you caused it to align properly. Check and see if the hook is broke or bad on the unit.
