John for Model Number WM2050CW The door lock on my LG washer will not engage. I replaced the switch assembly locker and still does not lock. It will attempt to lock two or three times and the fail to the DE code. The door hinges are not bent. I removed and disassembled the door. I took the larger portion of the inner door frame and held it in place with the latch hook inserted into the assembly locker. Then I took the handle of a screw driver and pressed the latch hook spring down against the frame. My wife started the machine and it locked and started working. Does the spring have to be placed a certain way for it to have the maximize compression of the spring? The spring does not appear to be worn or damaged. Is there a certain method to use to reassembly the door that will place the spring in the correct position? Thank you.
Answer Hello John. If the lock assembly is new, then the latch hook has to be broke and not letting it lock. When you did it manually, you caused it to align properly. Check and see if the hook is broke or bad on the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, November 22, 2017
