John February 13, 2013 for Model Number DLG2302W I have the same problem with my display being out but drum light comes on. I replaced the part you recommended (EBR36858901) a display control PCB, but I still have the same problem. Should I now replace EBR36858802, the main control PCB? Any advice is most appreciated. Was starting for a while when pushing start button hard, but not starting now. Similar thing with start button on wasing machine. Could it be part #ap4445409 or #ap4451021. 2 Answers Hi Donna. Check to make sure you are getting 240v to the dryer. If you are, you could have an issue with the control board display EBR36858901. Is there any fault codes at the display like any lights flashing ? The display board is a user interface control that transfers the commands to the main control board to send voltage to start the unit. You need to remove the power and remove the 3-screws that hold the top at the back of the unit. Then slide back, up and off. Inspect the wires going to the interface and the main control board part # EBR36858801. There is a tech. sheet in a folded packet in the inside of the cabinet that you can use to diagnose the field service mode. 2 Answers Hello Donna. It sounds like you may have a few issues going on here. For the start button problem, you will need to replace the pcb assembly EBR36858901 and for the drying problem, It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Joe September 06, 2011 for Model Number DLG5966W My wife was drying clothes, when the dryer stop working. Now there is no power on the display. We try to power on but no display. Only the light goes on inside when the door opens. We push the button on, no display. I unplug the unit from the wall and plug back in nothing.
1 Answer Hello Joe. Check the outlet and make sure there is 120 volts there. If so, check for voltage between wh1 white wire, and wh2 black wire for 120 volts. The door light will come on when opened but the power will not turn on when the power button is pushed.
