The Refrigerator Door Switch is an OEM part for LG refrigerators, designed to signal the control system when the door is open or closed. This small but essential component plays a critical role in the overall operation of your refrigerator, including the activation of interior lights and the control of cooling functions.

Over time, the door switch can fail due to mechanical wear, accidental damage, or a buildup of debris that may prevent it from functioning correctly.

Symptoms of a bad Refrigerator Door Switch include:

  • Interior lights not turning on or off appropriately with the door's position
  • The refrigerator running longer than necessary, potentially leading to increased energy bills
  • Unusual fluctuations in temperature inside the fridge, affecting food preservation

This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.
