Eric December 02, 2013 for Model Number SMH8165STE Samsung over the stove microware. Serial # J4G97MOZC00255M Built in Dec 2010 My microwave will not turn off. The light and fan stay on. The door seems to shut tight. I had to unplug in to shut it off. I have removed the door latch assembly. Someone said that replacing this piece, it has 3 switches on it, may fix the problem. I am ready to order the part, or other part, if this will fix it. Let me know. Thank You Eric
1 Answer Hello Eric. You will need to test the door switches in the unit and see which ones are bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Denise December 08, 2011 for Model Number amv5164bas How do you disassemble and assemble the door to replace part ap4237456
1 Answer Hi Denise. Remove the power. remove the upper grill. Remove the metal plate above the control panel that will allow access to the upper control panel mount screw. Then remove it. You now lift up on the control panel and pull out towards you a couple of inches. There will be a green ground screw that needs to be removed from the back of the metal board mount plate. Then take a picture and take notes of the wiring connections. Then unhook completely and lay aside. This will give access to the door latch mount screws on the side of the inner cavity frame. Then lift up on the switch latch assy. and bring it out where you can take note of how the switch wires attach individually onto the switches. Then replace the whole assy. as you removed it. Reassemble in reverse. You need to open and close the door as you are seeing the door switches close and open in accordance with the door. You may need to adjust the door latch itself up or down to make positive contact. If you reinstall the latch exactly where the screws were before, it will help with all of this, (eliminating it). Part # DE96-00414A. Thank You. Read More...
