Samsung DE96-00414A Microwave Door Latch And Switch Assembly OEM Part

I did some searching on the internet to see if others had the same issue I was having. There were many who had the same problem and everyone of them fixed it by changing out the latch switches, which in my case, were part of the latch body assembly. So I ordered the part from AppliancePartPros and it arrived on Tuesday, 2 business days after I ordered it, which was just as expected. I had also done some research regarding how to replace the latch body assembly and, although I couldn't find anything on my exact microwave, I found enough information that helped me understand what I needed to do and look for. The first thing I did was unplugged the microwave. I then unscrewed the two screws that held on the top plate above the door and removed that panel. That then exposed a single screw that held the panel that covered all of the electronic controls. I took that screw out, slide the panel up some and was then able to pull it out exposing the wires and harnesses. I noticed there were two screws holding in the latch body assembly so I removed those screw, pulled out the assembly and disconnected the wires to the assembly, keeping close track of which connections went to which connectors on the assembly. I then took the new assembly, attached the connectors, put it in place and replaced the screws. I then replaced the control panel and reattached the screw holding it in. Then I put the top panel back on and replace those two screws. Then I plugged in the microwave. Everything now works like a charm. Very easy fix. Took maybe 15-20 minutes.

Tested door interlock switches. Found one switch bad. Ordered the door interlock switch bracket assembly (which, by the way, included all 3 new switches. Installed assembly in 15 minutes. Works perfectly now.

Replaced door assembly. Remove top grill. Remove cover over control panel. Unplug all wires from circuit board. Pull out door sssembly and replace. $15 part instead of new microwave. Very proud of myself!

1 out of 3 of the door switches was faulty. (From my household SLAMMING the door). I did not feel like messing around with possibly picking the wrong switch so I ordered this whole assembly. Really easy to install. Just take a pic of the wires so you don’t forget where they go. Also as a heads up. Just take the control pad off. It is totally in the way while working on this. Make sure it’s unplugged and discharged. Also note if you are getting just the switch. Be aware that two of them are normally open and one is normally closed.
