J Gregory November 20, 2023 for Model Number RSG257AAPN/XAA The ice maker is not working properly. The ice tray will not fill up completely with water. The water freezes but the maker will not make ice without being reset. Is the ice maker defective or could it be another problem. How quickly do your parts ship? Thanks, Greg
1 Answer J Gregory, Based on the information provided I would suggest checking the temperature at the ice maker, it should be 0-8°f. If the temperature is not below 8°f you could have a cooling issue. Read More...
1 Answer Roberta, the ice maker DA97-07549B ejector fingers should only be rotated by the ice maker motor. This can be done by pressing the reset button on the right side for up to 3 seconds. Read More...

Donboe May 13, 2023 for Model Number RS25H5111SR/AA-0000 I’m a snow bird that goes to Florida from January to May. Before I left the ice maker was working fine and I turned it off not to make ice. I just returned to me summer home and turned the ice maker back on and nothing happens. I’m thinking that maybe something froze up in the mechanism. Could that possibly be the problem and if so what’s the next step? Thank you. Don
1 Answer Don, Check to make sure that the fill tube for the icemaker is not frozen and make sure that the water supply is turned on. Read More...
Martin April 05, 2023 for Model Number RSG257AARS/XAA I have this Samsung refrigerator with ice maker model: DA97-07549B that is cycling prematurely. This premature cycling is causing the ice tray to get overfilled and water running over and eventually down to the floor. I performed the reset by pushing the test button only once and also get numerous cycles during this process, causing the water overflowing the ice tray. I turned the water supply off and performed the reset test again with same results (numerous cycles). Do I have a faulty ice maker unit? Could it be a faulty thermostat in this ice maker unit? The freezer compartment is maintaining proper temperature. Appreciate any input before moving forward with any more troubleshooting or repairs. Thank you.
1 Answer Martin, based on the information provided, the most likely cause is the ice maker DA97-07549B is sending improper data to the main control and causing this multiple-cycle failure. Read More...

David July 18, 2022 for Model Number RSG257AARS/XAA-00 When putting in the new icemaker, I removed the base plate from the old one to place it on the new. The holes for the screws line up properly but the screws to attach the base plate are larger than the screw holes on the new one. Do really need to put the base plate back on, or will it function without it? THANKS
1 Answer David, it would be recommended that the unit is repaired to the manufacturer's original design. We would not know what could occur by modifying the original design. Read More...

Rod March 05, 2020 for Model Number Samsung/Kenmore fridge model 401.41003010 I have replaced this ice maker (da97-07549B) so it is now new but the same problem exists. It is not the ice maker unit (unless it is a bad new part) Should I return in? or is it something else in the fridge. It is Samsung/Kenmore fridge model 401.41003010.The Ice maker will not activate at all. No motor turning no water entering no activity at all. It does not try to start at all after the test button is pressed. I do get the chime when pressed.I have 120v at the maker and fully defrosted the freezer. My water pressure is good. What else in the fridge can I replace?
1 Answer Rod, the voltage supply to the ice maker would need to be tested from the red wire to the brown wire for voltage when the reset switch is pressed. The brown wire is the neutral side and if there is not a voltage reading after the chime sounds, the main control DA41-00649C is not closing the neutral relay for the ice maker motor. Read More...
