Bob D March 25, 2017 for Model Number Rs261mdwp I am trying to help a friend over the phone fix a ice maker and the question and answers talks about a reset button on the icemaker where would it be is it on the icemaker or on the refrigerator somewhere and if we unplug the refrigerator will that do the same thing as resetting it.
1 Answer Bob, If you look on the bottom of the icemaker there will be a small button that is the reset for the icemaker. This is a test button and should cycle the icemaker. If it does not then either the icemaker is faulty or the control board is defective. Read More...
Spencer December 14, 2016 for Model Number RS261MDBP/XAA I'm having troubles with my ice maker and understanding the arm that moves up in down. In all models I've seen, the arm on the right moves down when the tray is dumping to check the level of the ice in the bucket. On mine, the arm moves up as the tray turns to dump. Is this how it's supposed to be?
Larry September 10, 2016 for Model Number RS261MDWP/XAA My ice maker was not dumping ice. When I press the reset button it will dump, and refill. But after filling it will not dump again unless I press the reset button. I have been told it is a bad thermistor in the ice maker. You can not order just this part because the wires for the thermistor go into the ice maker main wire harness. I am comfortable with electrical work, and I want to purchase a new thermistor and cut the old wires and connect a new one myself. But I need to know which thermistor to buy. Do you know the resistance range or type of thermistor I need to purchase to make this happen? The model # for the ice maker is DA97-08059A. Thank you.
1 Answer Larry, Unfortunately the thermistor on the icemaker is not made available as a separate part and the icemaker would have to be replaced. Read More...
