Jon, If the water did not stop filling then test to see if there is power to the valve and if there is constant power to it then yes the icemaker would need to be replaced. If there is not then the valve will be the issue.

Dan, as long as the internal temperature of the freezer is verified as being under 10°F (ice cream is firm at 0°) using a thermometer, then the most likely failure is the ice maker DA97-08059A.

Hello Robert, check the freezer temp is at 0 deg, there is a test cycle push button on the ice maker mechanism that will start a forced harvest, press it and check the operation of the ice maker otherwise replace the ice maker assembly, DA97-08059A.
