Ted, You will want to check to see if the wire harness at the top of the door to make sure that there are no loose or damaged connections. If this checks ok then the most likely cause will be the display control board that is faulty.

The refrigerator compartment was not cooling. I found the evaporator cooling fan was iced up. I removed ice, cleaned and reinstalled. The compartment seems cooling (display temperature is getting lower but doesn't seem the fan is running. I checked the voltage between #3 (orange) & #10 (grey) of the CN75 connector on the main board. The voltage is about zero. Which part is bad, the evaporator cooling fan or the main board? Is there anything else to check? The freezer compartment is working fine.

1 Answer

Sam, With there being no voltage showing then the issue will be a faulty main control board.

I've been having trouble with the refrigerator side defrosting. I've replaced the temp sensor and fan motor. However it is still icing up around the top of the evaporator coil and fan. Ice build up at fan stops the fan. I pressed the defrost button and error code PC ER came up. Could this be a problem with the thaw cycle? If so what part is likely defective? A total thaw of the unit (by unplugging) temporarily fixed the issue before.

1 Answer

Mike, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty main control board with the sensor having already been replaced and it not completing the defrost cycle.

Hello Deborah. It sounds like the unit is turned to the OFF position. Try turning on the unit. If it does not turn on, replace the display board.

Getting no water or ice, motor for opening to let cubes drop in to be crushed ice in ice auger assembly runs constantly. Water control valve measures 39 ohms was told should be 80 replaced with new control valve which also measures 39 ohms. Checked my ohm meter with an employees to verify mine.Replaced control board no difference. Replaced control panel, water light lights up now did not before replacement. Filter has been replaced, there is water coming to control valve. ?

1 Answer

Steve, You will want to check the wiring harness at the top of the door to make sure that the harness is not damaged and there are no loose connections. If the wiring checks ok then the issue will most likely be in the dispenser lever case DA97-12095C.

Ice maker does not work, can not dispense water, filter has been replaced, water line good, if you unplug refrigerator and plug in an ice cube or two will dispense, the plastic arm for crushed ice rotates constantly, hear nothing at water control valve when pushing on control panel, circuit board good, has continuity on water control valve, On control panel ice off, cubed, crushed, and filter are bright when selected water Is dim. Door switch is good. What should the resistance reading be on the water control valve? Any suggestions as to solution.

1 Answer

Steve, The resistance of the water valve should be around 80 to 90 ohms. With both the ice and water not working then this would most likely be in the dispenser control board.

I have a samsung refridergator that the freezer side was working but the refridgerator side was not getting cool. I took it apart and it the fan was a solid block of ice from the drain up. The fan works, the fuse has continuity and the defrost unit has continuity but the thermo sensor does not have continuity. Could it be the sensor is bad? the temp on the door has a set point of 34 degrees but is also showing the 55 degrees it is currently at. Any suggestions? should the thermo sensor have continuity or not?

1 Answer

Scott, The temp sensor would be the issue DA32-10109W it should have a resistance reading through the circuit equivalent to the temperature It shouldn't have an "open" circuit at any time.

1 Answer

Jose, It is possible that the main control board is faulty and causing the unit to not cool. If the unit is not running at all then this would be the first place to start.
