Jimmy, The single flash indicates a starting error. Check the connectors on the inverter and compressor to make sure that there are good connections. If the connections are good and no loose or damaged connections then the inverter would normally be the issue. Since the inverter had just been replaced then the compressor would be the issue.

Steve for Model Number RS25J500DSG/AA-01

Several days ago the ice maker quit working. Then several days later I noticed that the freezer and refrigerator sides were not as cold as they should be. cleaned the condenser coils, opened the evaporator section to check the fan and for a frozen evaporator. Only the top of the evaporator was frosted. I checked the thermistors in the evaporator compartment and both we functioning properly. I saw no signs of refrigerant leaking (oil stains, etc.). I inspected the boards for obvious problems. when I first opened the compartment with the control boards it did have a hint of burnt smell. The driver board has a solid red light and there is some cooling. I've forced the compressor on and this does not make it cool better. Is this a variable speed compressor? Could the driver not be giving the compressor the proper speed command? The manual that I found on the internet was lacking in any PID diagrams so I am in the dark about how to check this or how the boards and control devices interact with each other. My thoughts are one of the following: there is a control device giving the wrong signal, the mother board is telling the driver to do the wrong thing, the compressor driver is not sending the proper signal to the compressor, or it is a r134 issue. Any help is appreciated.

Steve, Based on the information provided it sounds as if you have a sealed system issue and would need an EPA certified technician to perform the repairs needed.

Jimmy, If there is no light coming on with the inverter, check to make sure that the inverter board is getting power to it. If it is not then the main control board would be the issue.

Jesse, Check the cover in the back, if it has ice built up on the wall then either the defrost drain is clogged and backing up onto the coils or a defrost issue. You should have continuity through the defrost heater, thermal fuse, and bi-metal. If these test out ok then the main control board would need to be replaced.DA92-00624A

Hello Eric, /when the inverter board LED is on it indicates that the compressor is not operating properly. The forced operation mode should be initiated to determine the exact problem. This can be caused by the Freezer thermistor or the mainboard if the compressor runs in this mode. If not, the problem can be caused by the inverter board or the compressor. To enter the forced operation function, press the energy saver and fridge buttons at the same time for 8 seconds. The display should return to normal after 15 seconds in the ready mode. Once in the ready mode press any button to start a "pull-down" operation. when pull-down is entered, the compressor should start immediately. To exit the forced operation mode unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet.

Ed, it would be recommended that the main control DA41-00670C is fully inspected for any scorch marks when the appliance power cord is unplugged. Based on the information provided, it sounds like the control has a failure and inspecting it will identify if it is burning up and if a wire may have been affected.
