This power control board is a genuine Samsung part, sold individually. This power control board is a replacement part for a refrigerator. The power control board is located in the back of the refrigerator. The purpose of a power control board is to maintain and manage the refrigerator's compressor. If a refrigerator is not maintaining its temperature properly, the power control board may need to be replaced. This type of board has an LED light that will signal if it is not functioning correctly. If this LED light is going off, the power control board should be removed and replaced with this genuine OEM replacement part. The repair or replacement process for a power control board is simple to perform and will require no specific tools. Make sure to wear gloves while performing this replacement for safety when dealing with electrical currents and potentially hazardous materials. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. This power control board is compatible with Samsung brand refrigerators.

For Samsung Power Control Board (Part Number: OEM14945724)

Ultimaniac for Model Number RF27T5201SR/AA

Just had a second technician come and check out my refrigerator. First Sears tech told me there was a problem with the sealed system and it would be covered by Samsung. Samsung tech came and told me there was also a problem with the mainboard and that it would cost $500 to replace and they couldn't do the sealed system repair until they replaced the mainboard. I opened the back and looked at the board before either of them came to check and there was no error message. Manual says a solid red light on the mainboard means no error. Compressor's running but the fridge and freezer isn't cooling but there's icing on the coils inside the freezer. Could the mainboard actually have an error or did I just get ripped off? Incidentally, before calling Samsung support, I attempted to see how much a repair would cost on the Samsung website and was also quoted about $500 flat rate to repair the fridge without a tech even coming to look at it.

Ultimaniac, While there could be an issue with the main control board, it would be more likely that it is just a sealed system issue. It is not common for there to be a sealed system problem and a control board problem.

Needy, This sounds like a sealed system issue and would suggest having service to check the unit.

Hello Brian, the compressor's inverter board is wired directly from the main harness for its 120vac,, it does not involve the main control board, you can check for 120vac at the Red and Grey wires going into the inverter board, if it is there then the inverter board (DA41-00614F) has failed internally, however, the manufacturer has discontinued the part and it is no longer available.

Dave, the main control DA41-00538A would be used to control the ice maker. However, it is recommended that the self-diagnostics are entered to identify if there is a stored error code as this can identify a specific failure. This can be done by pressing and holding the energy saver and the lighting keys at the same time for 8 seconds. The buzzer should chime and an error code should display for 30 seconds if one has been identified by the main control.

WEC, Thanks for the question!!! The red light is on steady means that the compressor should be running normally. If your freezer is not cooling you would have a thermistor issue possibly or a sealed system issue. Sealed system issues require an EPA-certified technician.

Ryan Meeks for Model Number RFG237AARS/XAA-0000

My Samsung fridge stopped cooling and then after unplugging and plugging back in started cooling again and worked for about 1 week. Then it stopped working again, I unplugged it overnight, then re-plugged it in and it cooled again for about 3 weeks. I checked the red LED light on the inverter board while in diagnostic mode multiple different days. One day it was blinking once and another day blinking 5 times and then when I checked it a few days later, it was solid red. Today it stopped cooling again and the LED light is still solid red while in diagnostic mode. The compressor was running and felt hot to the touch. After unplugging for a while, it is cooling again. What is the problem?

1 Answer

Ryan, This issue sounds more likely that there is a main control board DA92-00163C issue that is keeping the unit from cooling properly.
