For Samsung Refrigerator Main Control Board Assembly (Part Number: OEM12412338)

Pete for Model Number RB195BSSW/XAA

Hi, my refrigerator started alarming as though the door was left open.Checked that is was not. The top fridge light staying on even when the door button was depressed, Thinking the switch was bad I replaced it. Did not fix issue. Fridge temp.rises to 55 at times then returns to set temp of 40 deg. Alarm did stop sometimes but then went into alarm after opening the door. Light is also on sometimes but not always when the door is opened. We did have a thunderstorm recently. Thanks Pete.

Pete, Based on the problem description, this issue sounds like the main control board will be the cause of the light intermittently working and sometimes not shutting off.

Have a Samsung fridge model #RB215BSSB 2006-2007 I believe. Evaporator coils in the fridge are freezing over. Replaced defrost temp sensor and thermos fuse after defrosting fridge it cooled tell the coils froze over again, fan works and display says 34 degrees but beer is not cold. So I'm thinking its one of 2 parts the defrost heater for the evaporator or the main board? what do you think should I just replace both? And if its the defrost heater where can I get that part?

1 Answer

Dave, Test the heater for continuity. If there is continuity then this would most likely be a faulty main board.

We have this model of Samsung and the problem started around 6 months back. The fridge is not defrosting. We called company authorized service center and they replaced defrost sensor two times. It is the same problem. It works fine for few days because we have to switch it off for repairs but after that ice inside starts building up. Everything else is working fine but refrigerator stops cooling because fan stops when the ice starts building up. Please help.

I would check the connections on the main control to make sure they are good and tight. There should be a diagnostic procedure to put it into a manual defrost cycle to check the heater and see it it is coming on.If the heater comes on in the manual defrost cycle, then there is a problem in the wiring or main control.

Donna, You will want to check the frost pattern on the coils in the freezer. If there is little frost then this would be a sealed system issue in which service would be required.

Chasity, You will want to check to see if the refrigerator fan is running. If the fan is not running this could cause the temps to fluctuate and can cause the unit to freeze at the bottom. Also check the temp sensors in the refrigerator compartment.

Hello Larry. The main board is bad on the unit. The model number will have to be verified on the units I.D. tag since the one listed came up invalid. This will be necessary to look up and specific parts such as the one you requested. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. We will need your model number to help you with this. Joe, While the operation of the unit should not be affected by the dimming of the lights, it would be recommended to replace the dispenser cover assembly DA97-12088V for the purpose of setting temps on the unit.
