Jane March 17, 2018 for Model Number WTW5800BW0 My washer won't spin. It goes through the cycles up until when it goes to drain the water out. The lid locked light flashes after the water drains but doesn't go through to spin it. The washer just stops and doesn't continue until we manually switch it to "drain and spin". We can't figure out how to fix it.
1 Answer Jane, It would be recommended to get the tech sheet from the unit and put the unit into diagnostics and see if there are any stored error codes. If there are then follow the steps for the error on the unit. Sounds like it could be a speed sensor error and may need the shift actuator. Read More...
Tr February 24, 2018 for Model Number WTW5500XW0 I press start on my cabrio it will start to sense then the lid lock light starts to flash, if it continues beyond that cycle it will stop. I had to switch it to drain and spin. It just started draining with the lid open. Is this an cycle actuator issue? Before all this happened it seem to be off balance during spin cycle.
1 Answer TR, It would be recommended to check to see if there are any stored error codes by putting the unit into diagnostic to retrieve them. With what is being described you may have 2 issues, one would be possible shift actuator and the other being an issue with the lid lock as the unit should not drain with the lid open. Read More...
Jw February 10, 2018 for Model Number MVWX655DW0 I have the washing machine indicated in the model number information. Recently it has begun having problems moving through different stages of various cycles and with the panel lights displaying incorrectly. I have replaced the lid lock/sensor. It seems that the problem may be the shift agitator. Is there a way to diagnose of the problem is the agitator?
1 Answer JW, You will want to put the unit into diagnostics and see if there are any stored error codes. With the unit not showing correct status this would be more likely a issue with the main control board. Read More...
Melanie January 31, 2018 for Model Number wtw4800bq1 Whirlpool model wtw4800bq1. Washer will agitate and drain but will not spin. Light keeps flashing when washer should be spinning. Lid will lock and unlock during manual test mode but begins to blink when put in the spin test. Error codes f7e1 and f7e7. I have replaced the shift actuator and lid lock assembly still no luck. Any suggestions? I'm not sure if this will be helpful but when this problem began it would spin occasionally but always off balance then eventually it would not spin at all. Thank you in advance.
1 Answer Melanie, Both of these errors are related to the speed sensor on the shift actuator that is faulty and the shift actuator WPW10006355. Read More...
Rob January 14, 2018 for Model Number MVWC6ESWW1 My washer sounds like it is working like it is supposed to but it does not agitate. I replaced the Dogs. and nothing it spins at the end like it is supposed to. Clothes are not dripping wet. I looked in it during the wash and no agitation but it sounds like everything is working. Where do I go from here. The motor Coupling is good also.
1 Answer Rob, With the agitator dogs having been replaced and the agitator not moving at all then this sounds likely that either the splines inside of the agitator are stripped or the transmission is faulty. Read More...
Judy January 13, 2018 for Model Number MVWX700XL2 Replaced lid lock assembly and actuator flashing light still is on and the washer still does not work.
1 Answer Judy, You would want to put the unit into the diagnostic mode to be able to see if there are any stored error codes but the shift actuator may be faulty on this unit. Read More...
Harris January 06, 2018 Have a whirlpool cabrio, attempting to agitate/spin but only getting limited movement and grinding sound. Showing code f7e1. Pulley nut is tight, belt is like new. Seems like an actuator isn't fully engaging/disengaging. Sound right?
1 Answer Harris, Based on the error code the shift actuator would be the most likely cause for this issue. Read More...
Julie M January 05, 2018 for Model Number WTW4950XW1 Hi. I have replaced the actuator and the lid lock. I have unplugged the washer for 5 minutes, then plugged back in. When I try to start a load, the sensing light comes on, as does the lid lock light. However, the lid lock sounds like it is trying to lock (and not locking), and nothing happens. No cycle starts, no water fills, etc. I am frustrated and really cannot afford a repair person. Do I need to recalibrate it? How? Thank you.
1 Answer Julie, When you lift the main top there will be a tech sheet that will show you how to put this unit into the diagnostic mode. You will want to put it into diagnostics and see if there are any stored error codes. If there are following the description on what to test to determine what the issue is with the unit. Read More...
Shamus December 10, 2017 for Model Number MVWC360AW0 The washing machine will spin out and drain.it is not cleaning laundry.i did run it through the cleaning cycle and used a cleaning chemical.can you please give me something to go with?thank you
1 Answer Shamus, Presuming the washer does fill with water and agitates in the wash cycle( you didn't mention it) then the issue would be the load size, detergent usage, or degree of soil in the clothes, etc. You'd want to review the use and care manual (especially page 13 thru 16) for a recommended resolution. Adelia November 25, 2017 for Model Number Wtw4950xwo Changed actuator in washer started washer and nothing happened but some clicking the lid locked flashed. Ran another diagnostic and it stop at the same place as before . Which told me the actuator. Would appreciate your feedback ty.
1 Answer Adelia, You will want to check the wiring between the main board and the actuator to make sure that it is not damaged. Also check the splutch assembly to make sure that it is working properly and that the cam ring is pulling the splutch in and out when it is slid. If this checks ok then the issue will most likely be a faulty control board. Read More...
