Mhigl July 14, 2015 for Model Number DWU9200AAX The water does not seem to be spraying in the dishwasher. I use to be able to hear it spraying.now it's not
1 Answer Mhigley, The first place to start in this older dishwasher is the water level. Start the dishwasher on the regular cycle, allow it to fill and wash for 5 minutes, unlatch the door, open the door and remove the lower rack, look inside the tub at the center, the water should partially to completely cover the heater element circling the pump, if not you don't have enough water in the machine to properly pressurize the pump and distribute the water to all the spray arms. Roger January 18, 2012 for Model Number dwu7400aax Is the upper wash arm suppose to spin when the dishwasher has no dishes in it. Bottom one spins top is not? help
1 Answer Hi Roger. Does the upper arm spin freely if you turn it by hand ? There may be an obstruction in the snap outlet just above the wash arm ? Part # WP912680. Is the snap retainer clip below it broken ? Part # W10116811. If none of this is bad then you need to check the sump filter assy. all below the lower wash arm. You will need a shop vac.,pick tools and towels to remove the wash arms and rinse them under the sink while removing all debris stuck in the wash arm holes. You will need to use a T-15 and 20 screwdriver to remove the top of the sump and clean all parts. You are clogged in the unit filter an d by cleaning it all you will increase the water pressure needed to run the top arm. Remove all parts one by one so you know how to reassemble them. You will find the pump filter that is approx. 2"H x 2' circumference just under the top strainer. Under it is a 4"tall rinse arm assy. On all sides are slits that will clog, clean it. Going into it further you will find the impeller assy. part # WP902875. Make sure the blades are not broken. below it is a chopper assy. part # 912310. Make sure it is sharp and not damaged. This all combined with using Glisten dishwasher cleaner part # W10549845 monthly should help keep it cleaner and optimize the performance . Thank You. Read More...
