Mike M. January 06, 2014 for Model Number MDE7600AYW It's not clear to me as to whether the short baffle (your p/n AP4042434, Maytag p/n 33001755) comes with the screws/bolts. Can you please let me know? If not, what is the screw/bolt p/n? (Or can you please give me a general size/spec for the screw/bolt so that I can source it locally?) Happy New Year!

Madeline H June 28, 2013 for Model Number MDE2500AYW We have 1 drum baffle ( P/N AP4042434) which is loose. Can this be tighten or does it need to be replaced. How can this be tighten?
1 Answer Madeline, If you lift the main top of the unit you can tighten the baffles. To do this you will need to remove the door and the screws on the opposite side of the opening. Once the door is off and the screws out you will want to remove the front panel. With the front panel off there will be screws to remove on either side that will allow you to remove the main top. Sam March 12, 2013 for Model Number mde8757ayw How many short baffles and how many tall baffles are there in my dryer. 2 are missing and I only have one
Dee R. February 18, 2013 for Model Number MDE5500AYW My large baffle only has one screw holding it. Can I keep the baffle and only get the two screws I need to reattach it and how do I get to the area to fix it?
1 Answer Hello Dee, Unplug the unit and open the door. Remove the screws that secure the door hinges to the front panel. Remove the door and "twist" the top end of the front panel to release it from the retaining tabs. Tilt the main front out toward you and lift it off of the bottom clips. Now remove the two 5/16 inch hex head screws that hold the clips on that are holding the main top down. Once these are off, the main top can be raised. The baffle should be completely removed for inspection. If the holes are stripped, the baffle WP33002032 will have to be replaced so it can hold the screw. The missing screws will, by the way, be in the bottom of the unit so you will not need to order replacement screws 33002973 unless you cannot find them. If the baffle seems to be OK, since the screw came out once before, squirt a dab of silicone sealant into the hold before reinstalling the screw to hold the baffle in place. This normally prevents the baffle screw from backing out again unless the hole is "wallowed out". Read More...
