The Bellow is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines, designed to create a watertight seal between the washer door and the drum. This flexible rubber or silicone component prevents water from leaking out of the front-load washer during operation.

Causes of a bad bellow can include regular wear and tear from constant use, exposure to harsh chemicals or detergents that degrade the rubber material, and the accumulation of foreign objects that can pierce or tear the bellow.

Symptoms of a bad Bellow include:

  • Visible cracks, holes, or tears in the rubber
  • Water leaking from the front door area during operation
  • Mold or mildew smell coming from the bellow due to trapped moisture and debris
  • Difficulty closing the washer door or an improper seal when the door is shut

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Remove the control panel and then remove the screws holding the front panel on and you will be able to get the door boot installed.
