Manufacturer Part Number: WP8182119

The Bellow Tub Seal is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This part acts as a flexible seal between the door and the drum of front-loading washers, preventing water from leaking out during operation. Note: The clamps do not come with the seal. For clamps order W10902779 and WP8182210

Causes of damage to the bellow tub seal often include regular wear and tear from frequent use, the buildup of detergents and chemicals that can degrade the material over time, and physical damage from overloading or from objects caught between the door and the drum.

Symptoms of a bad Bellow Tub Seal include:

  • Visible cracks, holes, or tears in the bellow
  • The accumulation of mold or mildew
  • Water leakage from the front of the machine
  • Clothes getting caught or snagged in the damaged areas of the bellow

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

For Whirlpool Bellow Tub Seal (Part Number: OEM18035283)

Kenf for Model Number WFW9400SZ04

Is the bellows/gasket usually the culprit for odor that won't go away? I've run vinegar cycles, wiped all around and in the folds of the bellows/gasket with Clorox wipes, and left the door hanging up, but still smell. I've also opened up the filter in front of the drain pump to see if anything was there, but nothing. And while I had that open, I suctioned out the hose leading from bottom of drum to the drain pump. Still there is musty odor. Hence me starting to wonder if the bellows should be replaced. Thanks.

KenF, the bellows WP8182119 are a common cause for odors and if mildew sets into the material, replacing it would be the only correction.

Ray, This issue will most likely be caused by a drum support that is broken and will need to pull the unit apart to check. If this is the case, then you may need to replace the front drum as well.

Barb, if the odor has continued after extensively cleaning the door bellow WP8182119, running a cleaning cycle using Affresh W10549845 and leaving the door open to air dry has not helped then the door bellow would need to be replaced (if odor is coming from the bellow specifically).

Gary, We are sending you a tech sheet and ask that you follow the directions to read the fault codes. This is a good starting point to find the fault and go from there.

Robert, Before you replace the door seal make sure the glass on the bottom is clean, we have seen instances where just a small amount of pet hair will cause the seal to not touch the glass and leak a little. Most of the time just the seal would need to be replaced unless the clamp or spring is damaged.
