The Door Bellow Seal is an OEM part for Whirlpool front-load washing machines. It forms a flexible seal between the door and the washing machine drum, preventing water from leaking out during operation.

Symptoms of a bad Door Bellow Seal include:

  • Water leaking from the front of the machine during or after a wash cycle.
  • The presence of mold or mildew on the bellow, which can cause odors.
  • Visible tears, punctures, or deformities in the bellow material.

Causes of a bad door bellow seal can include regular wear and tear from washing cycles, exposure to harsh laundry detergents or chemicals that degrade the rubber, and physical damage from clothing zippers or sharp objects left in clothes.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Door Bellow Seal (Part Number: OEM18045252)

1 Answer

Richard, Thanks for the question!!! No other interlocks. It may be a wire that came loose during the previous work. Go back and check the connections to the main control board and the incoming power harness. Also, make sure you did not forget to plug in the user interface. If no loose connections, it would be time to get your meter out and trace power incoming through the machine.

Melvin, You will want to make sure that the seal is not turned inside out. Makes sure that the seal is all the way in place.

Nick, Most of the time the damage comes from stuff left in the pockets of clothing, hairpins, pencils nails etc. Watch your washer in the spin cycle to make sure that it doesn't move from side to side with a possible shock absorber issue.

Margaret, As long as the lip of the bellow was installed over the lip of the outer tub correctly then it was a successful install. Make sure there are no leaks. And the rubber smell will go away, that gasket is dry and touches the inner drum slightly. Just run a load with no clothes and the smell should go away.

Jim, We are showing that this is the correct part number for the bellow for your unit. We are also not showing any changes in the bellow and will want to make sure that it is not turned inside out but should work.

Jim, The WPW10111435 / WPW10111435 Door Bellow Seal, is the correct part to order for the model number you supplied(based on the manufacturers parts and service library). You may want to check the packaging, to make sure you received the correct part and there wasn't a mis shipped part. The tub cover opening is an inch or two larger than the loading door opening, but a four inch difference ??? Did you view the attached repair video on the parts order screen ? it may help.

Kin for Model Number WHIRLPOOL WFW8410SW02

After I replaced door bellow seal, I put everything together. I turned on the washer and the power light came on and everything was fine. I pushed the start button to start the washer, then the power turned off. I tried several times and it did the same. I took everything out to check the wiring and I did not find anything wrong. I got the power to the board and I can select any cycle and the LED light is on, but just when I push the start button the the power turns off and can't start the washer. Can you let me know the problem please? THANK YOU , Kin

Kin, Remove power to the machine and remove the top panel. Check the wire harness between the CCU and the user interface, make sure the harnesses are attached and seated properly. locate the CCU, and listen closely, when you plug the power cord into the outlet, you should hear a "click" from the CCU, if not the CCU has failed. Then make a selection, and press start, you should hear the door lock activate and the door lock, if not check the lock switches and wiring. If OK, check the drain pump wiring connections and pump.

Joseph, You will want to try to readjust the door seal where it seats on the cabinet. You could try heating the seal a little with a hair dryer to see if that helps if the adjustment does not work. Make sure that seal is fully wrapped around the groove of the door opening.

Hello Nicole, The most common cause of this is the door boot has a new hole or is not completely seated properly. If this is not the cause, the front of the outer tub 280255 could have a crack or other issue causing the issue.
