The Blower Belt is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers. This belt drives the blower fan, which is essential for circulating air through the dryer drum and out the exhaust vent, ensuring efficient drying of clothes. The blower belt is designed to fit seamlessly within the dryer, maintaining optimal airflow and drying performance.

You should replace the blower belt if it becomes worn or damaged. Common causes of a bad blower belt include wear and tear from regular use, stretching or fraying over time, or snapping due to excessive strain.

Symptoms of a bad blower belt include:

  • Dryer not producing enough heat
  • Clothes taking longer to dry
  • Unusual noises during the drying cycle
  • The dryer stopping mid-cycle

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

D.M.Sheara for Model Number MEDG200VQ1

Q1 The Pully Wheel on the blower back off ??? This should not happen as it screws on in the same direction as the blower operation. Loss of the Blower Belt caused the unit to not operate properly. Q2 Trying to reinstall the blower belt is a might difficult, There is no movement between the motor and the blower, the belt is extremely difficult to reinstall. Can heat be applied to the belt to get it to slip into the blower pully wheel??? There is no way to add slack and slip the belt over the pully. Any suggestions. Video not exactly what exists in my unit Thanks.

D.m. Sheara, The pulley wheel will screw on the same direction as the blower wheel turns and will not come off. For the belt if you put the belt on the motor pulley first and then start it around the blower pulley, you will be able to turn the pulleys and allow the belt to slide into place. Turn it the direction the pulley needs to go on.

Hello John. The blower belt rotates in the direction of the fan blades so the blower can remove the air. The manufacturer does not specify CW or CCW. You should be able to look at the blades on the blower and determine the direction.

Hello Bud. You will need to disconnect the power to the unit. Then release the clips under the top panel of the dryer and raise the top panel. Next remove the front panel from the dryer. Once removed, you can access and replace the belt WP8544742 on the blower assembly. Hope this helps.
