Sandor January 17, 2024 for Model Number KEMC308KSS04 Hi My oven is making a noise when running. I believe it's the cooling blower for the oven. I was going to order the blower but it looks like there are 2 blowers. Can you help me to determine which one I need? It makes the noise even when I don't select convection when running the oven.
1 Answer Sandor, This oven does have two blowers, one near the top and one near the middle of the unit close to the door latch. The middle blower is part number WPW10016550 and shows to be in stock at this time. The other blower assembly located at the top venting area is part number W11361286. Unfortunately, this one has been discontinued by the manufacturer & is no longer available. No alternate or substitute part has been recommended by the manufacturer. Read More...
Mark May 31, 2021 for Model Number KEMS377GBL0 oven is noisy when on and stays noisy until cooling fan shuts down. Which fan do I need? Upper microwave or lower fan? This is a dual unit single oven on bottom and microwave on top. Does not make loud noise when microwave is on.
1 Answer Mark, Based on the model number and description provided it sounds like you will need the cooling blower assembly. WPW10016550 Read More...
Kent May 10, 2021 for Model Number KEMC308KSS01 I ordered the blower to replace a noisy old one and when I disassembled the oven I discovered that the new blower has the motor rotated 90 degrees relative to the old one and consequently it will not fit onto the mounting bracket. It appears to be identical to the old one in every way except that the motor is installed 90 degrees turned. Is this something that I can adjust or is it a defective part that was accidentally manufactured wrong?
1 Answer Kent, Based on the model number provided the part is a substitution: This is a manufacturer substitution. Part may differ in appearance but is a functional equivalent to prior parts including 4450920 which was the manufacturer's original number. Read More...
Mike February 23, 2019 is the blower motor that comes on when you start the oven and stays on until it cools down
1 Answer Mike, Yes the blower motor would be the part that comes on when the oven reaches a certain temperature and then once the unit cools enough it will go off. Read More...
Marvin F. January 26, 2018 for Model Number KEMC377KBL05 We had our fan replaced with a WPW10016550 and it has been blowing the thermal fuses ever since. The last repairman told me we need a WPW10730066. Can you tell me what was in the oven before the fan was replaced? Also, I cannot find specifications for any of the above fans. Please send specifications for all three so we can determine if the replacement fans are blowing as much air as the original fan did. The replacement fan WPW10016550 may have three wires to hook up. Which hookup provides as much airflow as the original fan did?
1 Answer Hello Marvin, I'm sorry but the manufacturer has not shared the specifications on the blowers on this unit. This WPW10016550 is the blower for the lower oven. The blower for the upper oven is WPW10730066. The correct installation of the oven should be verified since air flow around the unit plays a big part in the fans' operation and its' ability to prevent the thermal fuse from opening. Read More...

Jami February 22, 2014 for Model Number GMC305PDB2 I have the original blower motor with part number FSP4450920 the replacement number is FSP4449888 the problem original motor only has two terminals to plug into the new motor has three terminals what is the third terminal for?
1 Answer Jami, The manufacturer subbed the part to a dual speed motor and your unit only calls for single speed. You would just need to use 2 terminals for the single speed motor application. Read More...
Karin August 12, 2013 for Model Number KBMC147HSS I have been noticing a faint burning smell for over 1 week now when heating anything in microwave for more than 1 minute. today it finally stopped heating...I noticed that the fan in back of unit does not run...could that have to do with it not heating or is it the diode, transformer or capacitor? Please help... Karin
1 Answer Karin, The diode would not likely be the cause of the unit not heating. You will want to test the magnetron which should have a resistance reading of less than 1 ohm. If not or reads open then the magnetron is bad and would need to be replaced. You will also want to test the capacitor. When testing the capacitor you should get a reading that drops off. If these check ok then the most likely cause would be a bad transformer. Read More...
Madcir754 July 28, 2012 My 30" Kitchenaid oven blower is excessively noisy. Likely the blower? or is the mounting loose? Is there a history of bearing failures or imbalance in Part Number 4449888 (AP3109908)?
1 Answer Madcir, Like any motor, the more usage they encounter the noisier they get. In most cases, the fan gets noisy due to mishandling and or improper installation, and this occurrs fairly early in the usage. Your issue is most likely due to age and usage, When you replace the assembly, make sure you use the foam pad(s) and the fan assembly is installed level in both directions and the mounting screws are not overtightenned.
