Dick R Maricopa , AZ January 28, 2015 Appliance: Model GMC305PR501 The oven fan made a grumbling noise as well as the normal fan noise put up with it for years but finally decided to fix it Ordered the new fan (blower) from AppliancePartsPros. It arrived 3 days later. Pulled the wall oven out of the wall, removed the sheet metal back and removed the noisy fan. Installed the new fan, reinstalled the sheet metal back, shoved it back into it's place, turned the power back on and viola!, much quieter. Kirk J Colorado Springs , CO January 05, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool 30" Built-In Electric Combo Sensor/Sc (Gold Line) GSC308PJS06 We have a whirlpool gold oven/microwave combo unit the lowever oven blower went suddenly noisy and the microwave light had failed I used the appropriate Whirlpool parts list, and diagrams, to identify the proper blower (there is one for the microwave and one for the oven), as well as a replacement bulb for the microwave. Received both within 4 business days. As others have mentioned, it definitely takes two people to lift the unit out and put it back - don't try it on your own. Once out, I removed the lower and upper back panels to expose the blower. Note, there is a metal "plate" over the blower that you just have to loosen to get to all three screws holding the blower. Very easy to pull out and replace. After carefully removing the top of the microwave, I gave up on replacing the light after realizing you still have 2 more layers of metal and wires to remove before accessing the light. As many have said, the light is a very poor design with regards to bulb replacement. I was done within 2 hours, and the unit is supper quiet now. Stirrup, E Kodiak , AK December 24, 2017 Appliance: KitchenAid 30" Built-In Electric Double Oven Thermal Convection Self-Clean KEBC206KSS04 Blower motor bearing worn out Replaced lower blower assembly. No small task for a double oven. Actual repair time 1 hour. Total time a bit longer. Easiest way to accomplish this is to build a roller dolly to slide under the oven as you pull it from the wall. Make it between one quarter and one half inch higher than the bottom of the oven. Easier to lift the front of the oven on removal than attempting to lift the back up as it goes back in. Blower motor is inside the back of the oven. Pull the two sheet metal back panels. Disconnect the two spade connectors to the fan assembly. Re attach the new one. Button the back up and slide back into the wall. Read More... 4 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Richard S Greensboro , GA January 12, 2020 Appliance: Whirlpool 30" Built-In Electric Double Oven Convection-Upper Self-Clean (Gold Line) GBD307PRS01 This was a double oven, the lower cooling fan was making noise It was relatively easy to replace it. Some suggestions: 1. Make a platform to support the oven when you slide it out of the cabinet. Make the platform sturdy because this thing is heavy. Make the platform the same height as the cabinet so that you can just slide it out and back in without having to lift it. 2. The fan is secured with about 5 sheet metal screws plus there are 3 screws on the top that the fan slides under when you loosen them. However you can't fit a screw driver in the space to do the job. I had to use a plier to grip the round head screw and loosen it. That was difficult and took a long time. When I put the new fan in I replaced the 3 screws with hex head screws so that I could use small wrench to tighten them. 3. Of course turn off the circuit before you start. Michael M Evergreen , CO June 11, 2016 Appliance: Model KEMS308GSSO Blower getting noisy REPLACED UPPER BLOWER WHICH WASN'T THE NOISY ONE, THEN REALIZED MY KITCHEN AID COMBO MICRO-CONVECTION OVEN HAD A LONGER LOWER BLOWER. REPLACED THAT ONE, WHICH WAS THE NOISY ONE. NOW MY THERMAL OVERLOAD PROTECTOR HAS FAILED AFTER A SELF-CLEAN CYCLE! WHILE THE UNIT WAS OUT, I CLEANED THE SMALL SPACES WHERE THE BLOWERS VENT TO THE FRONT. NOT AN EASY TASK. I TOOK A PIECE OF WIRE WITH A RAG AND SIMPLE GREEN TO CLEAN OUT THE DIRT CHUNKS AND GREASE. BE CAREFUL OF THE LATCH WIRING! ALSO CHANGED THE MICRO LIGHT BULB. BAD DESIGN, AS YOU HAVE TO TEAR INTO ALOT OF REMOVAL OF HARDWARE TO GET TO THE BULB!
