Jimmy, First check and make sure the oven front flange where the hinges attach to the oven are not pulled out or bent towards you. Check the lower corners of the door gasket WP71001970 for excess wear or fraying , If all's OK you'll need to order and install the door hinge repair kit 12002111 and put the oven through a four(4) hour self clean cycle after the replacement.

David for Model Number JJW9630CAW

We have a Jenn-Air JJW9630CAW double wall oven bought in 2003. We have had an issue for years with the doors being hard to get fully closed and the oven light coming on with the door closed. It has gotten worse to the point where the lights won't go out with the doors closed. The doors are actually to the point where they won't fully close now at all. We replaced the hinges. That worked slightly but eventually the doors went back to doing the same thing. I think it might be the receptacles in the body of the units We have read online that others have had this problem. Is there a guide to replacing the part and have you heard feedback that replacing this part might help?

Hello David. Part# WP74008015 is the correct hinge receptacle for your model. To replace, First you'll need to remove the door(per your users manual) dismount the wall oven from the cabinet, and slide the oven out approximately 6 inches. You will see the two(2) 5/16 head screws, that hold the reciever to the oven frame, remove the screws. On the front frame, you'll remove the remaining lower screw,(you already removed the upper screw when you removed the hinge/door assembly.

Armand for Model Number ww27430P

Sometime ago I replaced both Oven Door Hinges on my Jennair double oven, however it still does not close the oven door tightly. In fact the gap is so wide that the oven light switch does not turn the light off. I read elsewhere that I should have also replaced the Hinge receptical. Is Hinge recptacle assembly part #AP4096704 the correct part for this purpose? The picture of the part doesn't help to identify it's use. If not, what do I need to correct this problem? Thanks

Hello Armand, Whether this correct the issue will depend on the nature of the door hinge failure. I'm not meaning to confuse you but, sometimes the hinge receptacle WP74008015 will correct the issue and sometimes the inner door liner, (71002968 for a 10 series and 2402W264-19 for a 14 series), has a warp in it from downward pressure being applied with the door opened. Most of the time the nature of the failure can be determined with a yardstick or other straightedge. To make the determination, open the oven door and lay the straightedge on the door from the hinge to the top of the oven door. It should lay flat against the door liner. If it will "rock" because the door liner is not straight, the door liner is the issue. If it does lay flat, the receptacles will correct the issue. As a note, the series number is the first two digits of the serial number. Also, the part for the 10 series shows dis-continued so we cannot get it. If you do an online search, there are still several places online that show the part in stock, so if you need it, it may still be possible to obtain one.

Hello Armand. Based on the model number you provided, it sounds like the hinges WP74008014 are bad and will need to be replaced. To replace them, you will need to remove the door from the unit and disassemble the door. Then, you can access and replace the door hinges. Hope this helps.
