This spring clip secures small panels, brackets, or trim inside your appliance to maintain a snug fit and prevent movement. Replacing a fatigued clip helps restore proper alignment and reduce unwanted vibration or rattling. What it does:

  • Provides spring tension to hold a component firmly in place
  • Helps prevent vibration, rattling, or shifting during operation
  • Replaces a bent, worn, corroded, or missing clip
  • Common symptoms: loose or misaligned panel/trim, recurring rattles, or parts that won't stay secured
What's included:
  • 1 spring clip
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power (and gas, if applicable) before servicing
  • Access the clip location per your model's service/parts diagram
  • Note the clip's orientation and attachment points before removal
  • Use needle-nose pliers carefully to avoid bending adjacent tabs or brackets

Jim, There is not a thermal fuse on this unit. It only has a high limit which affects the heater and is mounted on the bottom of the tub under the unit. You can trace the wires from the heater and the blue wire with red stripe will go to it.

Hello Abbey, The end of this part should not protrude from the opening. This part is designed to hold the lower end of the lint screen in position to prevent it from moving and making noise and so it can properly catch lint being removed from the fabric that is in the air containing the heat and moisture from the drying load.

This is a repost of the question I just posted. NOTE: THERE IS A SINGLE SLOT, NOT TWO SLOTS. I am trying to figure out how to install the lint duct spring clip, part number WP8066208, correctly. If it's too far out, with the entire upper third of the part (the portion with the curled end and the slight zig-zag "jog" before the first large 45° bend) located outside of the duct, then there is no force against opposite wall of the duct to hold it in place and it just flops around and gets moved out of position when inserting/removing the lint screen. On the other hand, if I push the part farther into the duct so that just the curled end is positioned in the slot in the duct wall, (THERE IS JUST ONE SLOT), then the part easily gets pushed all the way into the duct and drops completely down into the duct. Comparing against the photo of the new part, it doesn't appear that any part of the spring clip has broken off (e.g., due to metal fatigue from the lint screen pushing it back and forth), and it doesn't appear that the part has been bent any more than the original configuration. Thanks

Hello Ken, It sounds like, from the description of your problem, that you will need to replace the assembly W11129408. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Ken, There are 2 slits in the front part of the ducting that one side of the clip will go in to and hook into place. The other end will just hang in there. You may have to disassemble the unit to put it back into place. You would feed it into the top slot with the flat end and then through the second slot and the hooked end will hook around the top slot opening.

Hell Doris. Yes, there is only 1 vent clip used in the unit. This clip clips inside of the lint duct assembly to prevent socks and other large items from contacting the blower wheel. The end with the curve made in it goes toward the front of the machine. Thank you.
