Jim September 05, 2012 for Model Number jds9865bdp22 We had a lighting strike right at the house. Before the storm, the oven worked. Afterwards, nothing. Panel does not display but we do get a beep every minute or so. Also, the gas cook top igniters work. We have to trip the breaker to stop beeping. I'm thinking its a fried erc? Can you tell me how to test and replace if needed. Thanks, Jim
1 Answer Hello Jim, Sounds like the display part of the clock has failed. The clock WP8507P232-60 will have to be replaced. Read More...
Joe October 24, 2011 for Model Number JDS9860BDS Hello,Is there a reference I can find to show me how to replace the control card or can you tell me how difficult it is? Is there just one ribbon cable or are there more wires and are they connectorized? Thanks, Joe
1 Answer Joe, I'm sure you mean the "ERC" (electronic range control) When you mentioned the "control card" . There are 9 to 10 pre wired connector harnesses to be made and a touchpad ribbon as well. If you follow these instructions, you should be fine "Control Panel Assembly Removal 1. Remove power from unit. 2. Remove burner switch control knobs. 3. Remove front screws securing control panel to chassis. 4. Remove screws located on the left and right sides of the control panel. 5. Grasp control panel on the far left and right sides and gently pull the control panel out and down. NOTE: The electronic control located in the control panel is a sensitive item, handle gently. 6. Label and disconnect wire terminals. Electronic Control Replacement 1. Remove control panel, see “Control Panel Assembly Replacement” procedure, steps 1 through 5. 2. Remove screws securing electronic control bracket to control panel. 3. Label and disconnect terminal wiring from electronic control.4. Slide electronic control down and out of bracket, applying slight outward pressure to the inside edges of the electronic control bracket. 5. Reverse procedure to reinstall electronic control. You'll do fine. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
