Confused June 03, 2014 for Model Number whirlpool gold series over the stove microwave The microwave blew the fuse and after replacing it the unit runs until you unplug it, it has also now stopped heating. Is this a timer or circuit board issue? It heated perfectly after the fuse replacement and then started acting erratically.
1 Answer Hello. You need to check for a bad door switch in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Al November 29, 2012 for Model Number kitchenaid I have an over the stove microwave(about 3 years old) that works fine except when it gets too hot from the stove below. It then starts to beep and will continue that until we disconnect power. What would cause this?
1 Answer Hello Al. This does not sounds like a heat issue, but more of a moisture issue from the stove. Try running the vent on the microwave while cooking and see if the issue quits. If so, it is moisture causing the issue. Read More...
Greg November 26, 2011 for Model Number kbms1454 ss kitchenaid Some of my lights on the clock are out. What is the part number an how do I change it?
1 Answer Hello Greg. WPW10124269 is the clock assembly. 1. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power. 2. Remove the microwave oven from its mounting location. 3. Remove the eleven T10 Torx screws from the top cover of the microwave. 4. Lift the back of the cover, slide the spring tab out of the control panel slot, and remove the cover. 5. CAUTION: Discharge the high voltage capacitor using a 20,000 O resistor from the terminals to chassis ground. 6. Disconnect the six ribbon cables from the user interface board connectors. 7. Unclip the user interface board from the holder and remove it from the unit. Remove the two T20 Torx screws from the user interface board holder and remove the holder from the subpanel. Remove the four T20 Torx screws (two on each side) from the control panel assembly and remove the assembly from the unit. Place the control panel on a padded work surface. To remove the display, press out on the four holder clips, and pull the display out of the holder. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps. Read More...
