This electronic control board is a genuine Whirlpool part and designed to fit a number of the company's ovens and cooktops. The electronic control board acts as the “brain” for the appliance, allowing users to set temperatures, choose oven functions, operate stovetop eyes, and more. An oven control board can be damaged through negligence or accident. While there is some water-resistance to the design, it is possible for spills to seep through and compromise the board. The control board can also suffer from exposure to heat, as well as wear at the soldered button contacts. Any damage to the board will likely necessitate full replacement of the part.Accessing the control board is usually done by first removing the control knobs, then removing the exterior plate that covers the board readout. A Phillips head screwdriver will be required. This is an OEM part sourced directly from Whirlpool and is sold individually. It is compatible with both Whirlpool and KitchenAid appliances.
